Panthers "Play 60" commercial starts airing this coming Sunday

From Peter King's MMQB article:

I think you'll see an interesting new commercial on the air next Sunday. (You'll probably be so sick of it in two weeks you'll never want to see it again.) But it's one of those NFL Play 60 commercials, with players from one team getting on a yellow school bus to the tune of "The Power Is On,'' by The Go! Team. (I had to look that up. There's no way I would know who The Go! Team is -- the band is from Brighton, England -- as you well can figure.) But the song's catchy, and this commercial is pretty good too.

It's the Carolina Panthers on the bus with kids, then getting off to exercise with them. There's Cam Newton, nodding in tune with the song, and Steve Smith, and Ron Rivera, and Jon Beason, and other players ... and -- spoiler alert now -- when the front door of the bus opens up to let everyone out, you see the driver. Jerry Richardson, the Carolina owner. In a spiffy blue suit. "When we heard Mr. Richardson would be the driver, we were all like, "Whoaaaaa,'' said Beason. Beason agrees with me: "The music is very catchy.''

Now if the Panthers could "play 60" we'd get a win..

But really the script needs a quick edit because Jerry pulled out with a bunch of kids on the bus, thinking it was our defense...

The sneak peek shows kids and cheerleaders on the bus,

so people will def think it is our defense . . .

sneek peek, as in you get to see it before it is aired on national TV.

The Carolina Panthers are the featured team for this season’s NFL Play60 Bus commercial! The spot is scheduled to air nationally during Week 7 of the NFL season, but you can get a special sneak preview on Panthers.com.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
