Official Panthers/Redskins Tailgate Thread

Redskins come to town Sunday at 1pm with hopefully some good weather. Another good tailgate happening all you have to do is show up and partake. This week's tailgate is sponsored by the Carolinahuddle.com website and Zod.

This week's food is provided by Salsaritas fresh Cantina. Please visit their website, salsaritas.com, for locations and menu items. The menu this week will consist of a taco bar including chicken, ground beef, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, beans, rice, chips, salsa, and all sorts of other items to build your own taco. There will also be various non-alcoholic drinks as well including sodas and waters.

The Huddle has been fortunate to have generous sponsors every game to provide free food and non-alcoholic drinks to everyone that shows up. In return the people that partake leave a donation that, because of the sponsors, 100% goes towards a year end bike donation to Toys for Tots. We’re talking upwards of $20,000 and 600 bikes to date have been donated to the Marine Corps Reserve during this time.

Breakfast will definitely be served again....various Bojangles biscuits.

Here's the usual info:

Where: We are located at the intersection of 3rd st. and Poplar. We are located in a large parking lot that borders 3rd, Poplar, and Church st. congregating at 3rd and poplar right beside the lower entrance to the lot. Look for the carolinahuddle.com banners, tents, and loud music. The lot is across 3rd street from Picasso's restaurant and bar.

What: Food, music, drinks (non-alcoholic) and friendly Panthers fans. If you drink alcohol you have to bring it yourself and provide your own cooler because its hard enough to keep our own drinks cold on hot days.

When: We’ll start at 7am this week. Maybe earlier. If you get there after 12:15 there's no guarantee any food will be left. Most of us are trying to get in the game as well so we can't stay back and cook for you, miss kickoff, if you get there late.

Who: Around 50 fans all somehow connected to this website.

How much: The parking lot is $25 to park there but you don’t have to park in the lot to tailgate with us. Many take the light rail for a few dollars and walk down or park a few blocks back for cheaper and just walk up.

When you show up and partake, please donate as much as you can to our cause. It’s a labor of love for us, but at the end of the day don’t discount what you saved by not bringing your grill, food, drinks, etc. and what it would cost you for a day of tailgating, shopping, and energy cooking. Remember 100% of your donation goes to charity. Hard to find many others that claim that nowadays.

Disclaimer: There will probably be loud music. The Huddle does not police adult behavior at tailgates so while kids have a blast at tailgates, we can’t be responsible for what they may see or hear during the time. Remember if you drink alcohol you’re responsible for bringing your own and keeping it cool.

Any other questions this is the thread to ask.

I think for the first time, I may come to a huddle tailgate.

I have been on the huddle for several years, and I have tried to make it before. But, I dont have an excuse not to come this Sunday.

I don't have a ticket, but I might just scalp one and go by myself. lol.

Plus, I have a bunch of home brews that I need to get rid of!

I'm coming down from MD, so this will be my first huddle tailgate. I'm staying at the Residence INN beside the stadium.

Yes I will be missing this TG but the show goes on. Different people handling setup, food delivery, and Salsaritas cooking all of it for everyone.

Madhatter can you bring that tabletop grill so we can heat up stuff?

    • I had everything saved on an old email address and my computer crashed and could not be revived.  I tried reviving it, then stumbled on one I was going to create several years ago...So I am using it instead.  My fault--did not keep the email and forgot password--
    • Rasheed Walker for Kris Jenkins Jr.is what i am actually referring to in that particular post  all those #'s you are referring to are athletic #'s & Monroe Freeling had or has an impressive combination of size & raw athletiscm & it has nothing do with his size or athelticsm that is preventing him from being a day 1 starter in the NFL technique is where he struggled at the NFL combine & not only scouts but analysts alike also viewed him as more of a developmental type of player rather than a day 1 starter  go take a look at Will Campbell transition from the SEC to the NFL another first round LT that was drafted #4 overall by the New England Patriot,s.Will Campbell was a three year starter at  LSU & was thought to be one of if not the very best LT's in the SEC  & compare his SEC carrer to his rookie season in the NFL? just because you played good in the SEC at LT does nescarrily mean you are ready to start at LT in the NFL day 1 & or your rookie season  & one last thing i think you are jumping to conclusion & somehow assuming that i do not like Monroe Freeling ?which could not be further from the truth .what i do not like is the idea starting a player who is not ready ...just saying
    • I'd 10x rather play the NFC North than NFC West.
