Injury Report

Heres something interesting... Right, yes its BleacherReport, but it has a point...

Most of the article, the worthwhile part...

The Carolina Panthers have spent more money than any other NFC South team this year. They’re only $1.99 million under the salary cap.

The problem with that, though, is a large chunk of that cap space is standing on the sidelines on game days and going through rehab during the week. Carolina has nine players on injured reserve and they’re taking up a whopping $16.309 million in cap space.

This club is led by Jon Beason, who is counting $6.322 million toward the cap. Thomas Davis is counting for $2.525 million. Jeff Otah is at $2.358 million and Ron Edwards counts for $2.33 million.

oof...

they'll transition tag him before they cut him.

I think it depends on Jeff. Although it is pure speculation, I would bet RR and MH sat Jeff down and explained the program they expected him to follow in his rehab. If he follows it, he will probably be back. If he strays, I expect him to be gone.

Can't see anyone trading for him at this point.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
