This is simply amusing to read now, especially in hindsight, to realize how wrong people can really be. I never saw this article before the draft, but after reading it I literally lol'ed.

I think we should hold this guy to it:

Cam Newton is a sure-fire bust. I am so certain of this that if he is the Panthers' starting quarterback in 2016, I will buy a Cam Newton jersey and stand in the stadium parking lot in my underwear when the Panthers come to Tampa Bay and hold a sign proclaiming that Auburn rules over Florida and Carolina rules over Tampa Bay.

Also, this was my favorite line:

In five years, when The Golden Calf of Bristol is leading Denver into the playoffs and Cam Newton is riding someone's bench, remember this article.

Okay....

He's only led his team to 2 wins so how has he not proven to be a bust? Get this dreadful team to 0.500 then we can talk.

Besides his very first game as a pro, the combined records of the team's Cam Newton and the Panthers lost to:

20-8.

Of those teams, two have won the Superbowl in the past two years, one was in the NFC Championship last year, and the other was 13-3 and won their division. Dreadful team??? The schedule has been BRUTAL...A bunch of close losses to playoff experienced, veteran teams. What else could you ask of a rookie? He gave the extremely young Panthers a chance to win every game but in the end, experience won.

Have you watched a single game this year?

      I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.

      this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
