Coaches also didn't adjust after halftime. Sure they got a TD, but we can score on anybody. However we can't keep closing it in after we score 21 points. Rivera needs to learn to finish, and stop playing for field goals.

Also, Rivera left Gross out there to dry against Allen BIG TIME. Had we contained JA, we're not having this discussion right now.

As of now, we truly don't even know our identity. Yeah we're a passing team, but where was this passing for those string of 3-and-outs?

Rivera and Chud need to find some 4th quarter/Lead packages. Because game in and game out (especially in the ones we're winning) the entire playbook goes Foxball. Just wacky and all over the place.

I truly don't know what kind of input Rivera has on the offense, but I'm quite sure a skinny passing route on 3rd and 2nd is not what the GOOD OCs do.

They need to get it together.

Defense is a whole different story.

Ultimately, this team has the talent, but it's clear as day that not everybody has fully caught unto his system. The Coaches are definitely no exception.

...but Allen is going to make his plays, defensive collapse in the 3rd quarter is why we lost.
offensive collapse didn't make it any easier.

Our defense played out of their minds for more than half the game.

While i'm upset with them getting burnt in the 3rd quarter, the offense failed to put up any points, allowing the vikings to gain confidence and momentum.

TBH the defense allowed the other team to march down the field and score. While we have came acustom to our Offense scoring every drive it should not be expected. We put up 21 points and that should be enough in the NFL.

Chud keeps getting a pass for falling asleep at the wheel when we take the lead or tie as well. His playcalling has been for the most part atrocious inside the 20s and when we lead or tie.

With what is said above, We did shell up and for some reason we expected our defense to not do what they have done all season. Next time we to go for the throat no matter what.

i wouldn't consider it an offensive collapse. they just tapped the brakes when they should have been piling it on.

they decided to play "balanced" ball control offense and control the clock.

you can't do that anymore and win games. you have to put the gas pedal to the floor and never let up, esp. when you have an unreliable defense.

Chud keeps getting a pass for falling asleep at the wheel when we take the lead or tie as well. His playcalling has been for the most part atrocious inside the 20s and when we lead or tie.

i think he's still figuring it out...same with the rest of the guys. this is kind of a "trial and error" year and we are still trying to forge an identity.

i'm giving everyone except special teams a pass this year, mainly because with everyone else i've seen incredibly positive things that make up the majority of the game. they'll get the rest of it worked out.

tbh, there's no reason that we shouldn't have put up a lot more than 21 points and we probably would have if we didn't decide to control the clock rather than the scoreboard.

we should have gotten another score and we could have easily. by that same token, the defense shouldn't have gotten more than 21 put up on them. the vikings offense wasn't that impressive.

The reason we pumped the breaks was because Allen was having such an effect. Still there is no excuse for not just adjusting to Allen and maybe using some more screens or draws. Game management has been a problem for us this year.

My problem is that this has happened in almost every game we've lost this year. If we get a lead, or had the lead and they tie it up, our offense goes stagnant and loses all rhythm.

Good point. I hope he figures it out soon because it appears we've made a habit of "tapping the brakes" when we get comfortable with the score in every game this season with the exception of the Skins game, but even there we kind of withered offensively for a small bit...

I know he's still working it out, and hopefully he gets the right balance in the redzone as well... But, no mistake about it, I love our offense, I just want us to get better in those areas because it has hurt us so far.

because of the lack of offseason this year that i am sure would have helped things move along better, i'm chalking this season up to just gaining experience and learning what we are capable of. in the mean time we get to see some exciting football and the birth of a great QB (much better than last year's mess).

next year they get no passes. from what we've seen this year there's no reason that we shouldn't be in legit contention for a playoff spot every year going forward. the saints will probably be the toughest competition for NFCS champs, but we should easily be good enough to at least secure a wildcard spot.

we've seen what they are capable of. next year they should start delivering.

The good news next year is if we can stay healthy we will not have the problems we are seeing this year.
