Peter King says he would switch OROY to Dalton...

Cam Newton 287 attempts 2,393 yards 9ints, 11 TDs, 7 rushing TDs

Andy Dalton 257 attempts 1,696 yards 7ints, 12 TDs, 1 rushing TDs

IF Cam had the benefit of the Bengals defense that could actually stop somebody this would not even be a discussion. If anyone thinks Dalton is better than Cam, they are a fool.

17. Andy Dalton, Bengals: Cincinnati's three losses in four games coincides with a drop-off in play by Dalton, who has thrown for just one score in each of the last three games. This is not a coincidence. Still, the blame doesn't rest solely with the rookie. His protection hasn't been top notch, his receivers have battled injuries at a position that lacks depth, and his level of competition has increased dramatically, with the three losses coming against Pittsburgh (twice) and Baltimore.

thats Jim Trotter, not Peter King.

fwiw, this week King named Newton co offensive player of the week and he has him as #1 for ROTY again:

1. Carolina QB Cam Newton. Thirteen rushing touchdowns, with three more Sunday at Tampa in the rout of the Bucs. Wow. And the two 400-yard passing games to start the season. Very, very impressive. It's still very possible I could go Andy Dalton, but as of this morning, I'm leaning toward Newton.

Cam's been there since this post of his I think, but I may be wrong. He seems to have cooled on Dalton getting the award, which makes sense since he was one of the people that liked him due to his wins - and he's not winning as often anymore.

WHHHYY are people so infatuated with Andy Dalton? Is the kid good? Yeah. But Cam has accounted for 26 TDs to Dalton's 18. He has only thrown 2 more INTs. He has a higher QB rating. He has accounted for 3800 yards of offense to Dalton's 2700. Right now the Panthers rank 5th in the league in total offense to the Bengals 18th.

If you are trying to make a case because Dalton has won more then take a look at the defensive stats that show the Bengals with the 6th ranked defense in the league and the Panthers with the 21st ranked defense. THAT is the reason the Begnals are winning more.

Bottom line is that Cam could end up with the most impressive statistical rookie season in NFL history. It will be a joke if he doesn't win that award.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
