Next Years TE's

If Shockey stays healthy I think we will keep him for another year. Olsen is here for a few more years and Barnidge is a free agent in 2012. If he signs for cheap then we might keep him around. Otherwise I suspect we will go for someone more productive. After all I suspect TEs want to play in this offense.

barnidge could be kept, i don't know if he's a future playmaker. people said the same thing about rosario.

retaining shockey should be a top off season priority. he's having his best year since 2007 and fits this offense well

I keep Barnidge around just for his special teams ability.

this offseason we need to make it a big priority shoring up special teams. we could have Hester and we'd still have a poo return game because our blocking is dreadful. don't even get me talking about the problems in ST coverage..

Olsen, Hartstock, & Dwayne Allen in the 2nd wouldn't be bad. I know TE isn't a huge need compared to some of our defensive needs, but there's a good chance we have a shot at take the best TE in the draft in the 2nd round and considering that we use 2 starting TE's it wouldn't be a bad pick, IMO.

I wouldn't mind extending Shockey, surely keeping Olsen plus one more unknown. This will free up one or two roster spots by only carrying three TE's.

Don't see much of a change in TE for next season. Shockey should be kept, Olsen will be there, and we have some depth. No need, at least at this point, to start thinking about drafting or trading / FA for a TE.

Next season is going to really interesting, and again, another exciting draft.

I'd like to see them draft a young kid the develop.

Nothing against our guys...but there is zero reason to sit on our hands.

Agreed! 5th or 6th pick and let them develop behind Shockey and Olsen. You couldn't have two better mentors.

I'd prefer they resign Shockey and forget about TE for several years and concentrate on building up or many weaknesses in the draft.

I know, Olsen and Shockey are performing well. But you need more than 2 TEs. When Barnidge comes off IR would be perfect for the 3rd spot. He is a receiving TE and this offense will play to his strengths.

He is also a special teams demon.

He is missed in the ST game.

We will no doubt be keeping Olsen and I would like to see us resign Shockey. I think that it will also be a good addition when Barnridge comes back. I would like to see us run with 3 TE's on the active roster. This will give us an additional roster spot.

Barney was wasted under Fox, not even sure why he drafted him- but I'm glad we did. He'd be a match up nightmare with his height, vertical speed and ball skills. I think he could be a star in this system.
