Should the Jets bench Sanchez?

Never seen a 3rd year QB maintain his starting job while making the same mistakes he made in his rookie year.

Yes he's a good QB in the postseason, but when you're this fuging AVERAGE(that's putting it VERY nicely) and inconsistent in the regular season, you can't expect to keep your job on the hopes that you'll turn it around in the postseason.

If only I had access to NY radio tomorrow. They're going to shred him.

Who's going to replace him?

  • 2 weeks later...

Sanchez with another game winning drive today with the 16 yard TD pass at the 1 minute mark of the 4th.

That's 3 Game Winning drives to go along with the 7 he had last year.

3rd year Pro with 2 AFC Championship appearances. He's been improving and getting better every year of his career.

So I guess Ryan will keep starting him. ;)

Key to being a good quarterback is consistency and Sanchez is the least consistent QB I've ever seen.

Some days he looks like a rookie starting his first game, some he looks like the 3rd year veteran he's supposed to look like.

No arguement, consider what The Golden Calf of Bristol looks like though in his second year.

It's slim pickins out there.

And Rex should have fixed the offense, rolled with Sanchez and he'd still have a job after this year.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
