Look. Like I said, I will post the two sacks that got the thread bump and break the plays down after the game. If you would rather just go to some stats site with "experts" for your analysis be my guest. Or, as I suggested earlier, you can you can look at the play for yourself and be the judge. But really at this point I'd rather just leave you with your stats.

I will post the video. I will leave my comments, and I will leave it alone. And after that, I will free you from ever being subjected to my opinion about anything Panther's related. No longer will I spend my time trying to discuss Panthers football on a forum where I thought it was encouraged.

Bowers had 5 tackles for loss in the game. The rest of the team had 2.

And they also moved Bowers around on the field and stunted him like crazy.

But by that logic of Bower's stats = Bells failures... I guess Bell had absolutely nothing to do with Cam's record breaking performance today tho..

Youtube is taking forever to process my uploads so I'll post the write up and add the videos later.

The first sack was given up on a called right side edge protection. Some call it an edge wall, but the coverage is designed to do basically what it says, and thats to max protect the right side edge with 3 o-lineman.

Bell's job at RT is to force the DE back inside. What's the point of a wall if you just let the defender run around it right? You see Bell does cut off the outside but the defender gets a good push on him pushing him a bit deeper than the coverage is designed, but not so much that he should be credited with the break down.

Hangartner, though profootballfocus won't credit him, IMO should be credit with the pressure. If you ignore his one handed face mask block you still see that he is late turning into position to close the inside. Kalil is in position to pick up the block on the inside rush and Hangartner needs to show a better understanding of the coverage by releasing the rush to Kalil and moving down the line.

You can see the play and read my points and be the judge for yourself, but this is an example of one of those plays where Bell is unfairly being blamed.

The second sack I won't even do a write up on. The video should speak for itself. The fact that people are saying this sack was on Bell is proof that he is just blindly being accused of any mistake made on the O-line.

The protection is given away when you see C Kalil place his right hand on the back of RG Hangartner. In this particular protection it's on the C-RG-RT to form a "wall" to protect the QB. Since everyone seems to think that the sack was completely on Bell I won't keep you waiting.

Most were on Bell. They weren't running many run stunts.

And Cam did run to his left almost every time away from Bell. I'm not sure how many more excuses you are going to make for the guy. Yes, we know, not every play is Bell's fault. But he is the weakest link on the offensive line. It isn't even close.

You've got to understand most Huddlers don't bother to make informed statements. If Bowers lined up over Bell on some plays, then by golly whatever Bowers' statline is is a reflection of how Bell

played.

I never said they were all on Bell. But he takes the biggest blame. Just because not every single stat should go against Bell, you don't just dismiss it and say it wasn't his fault.

You know how I know most postersdon't know what they are talking about? And I'm speaking in general, I'm not just addressing you- Most of them only react when a play involves the stat line. Bell allowed a rush to the QB on the final drive before the half that was a pretty poor showing on his part. Nobody said a word.

Yet, when Cam has held onto the ball for 5+ seconds, and there isn't an open receiver down the field, people wanna scream and piss and moan about Bell if the man who was lined up over him at the beginning of the play makes the sack.

Today wasn't even about the pass though. Bell got manhandled by Bowers all game. In the 4th quarter he let Bowers by so easy he almost got the RB killed both times. I don't care about stats but you can't completely ignore them either. However, even without stats, you could see Bell had a bad game today.
