If Shula and Chud leave

fair enough but then why did he go from being this awesome OC to being a TE coach?

I did a lot of research on Chud when he got hired. He wasn't just a TEs coach, he was basically an assistant HC. Turner really was very high on him because he played a large part on the success of Phillip Rivers and how their offense played

yeah umm see thats why we have these things called contracts and as you saw with Fox, JR doesnt exactly let people walk out of a contractual obligation easily.

You really don't understand how most assistant coaches contracts are structured, do you? 99% of them have clauses that allow them to leave for a promotion. bboth chud and shula rumors are about such promotions.

The fact is if they want a job they will get one somewhere else. Trust me there are teams stupid enough to give Chud the job if he wants it. Most great OC/DC that are with there teams are there because they dont WANT or already have tried out Head coaching before.

I would imagine both are going to stay. They both know we have just scratched the surface of how good the offense can be. They know what they have in Cam, and know they could be starting something great here.

Plus, Chud has really just started calling really solid games in the past 3 have games or so...I so badly wanna see this offense with a full offseason and TC.

I can not see any of the coaching staff going anywhere so soon, its just their names getting thrown out there for whatever reason. Even if they are getting considered, they are not just going to pick up and leave after not even a full year of what they are doing. They are going to want to be part of continuing this and having greater success and FUN before bailing out so quickly - even if its for a HC job. They will be there any off season, and if they think they have to do it now cause their "hot" then how much confidence do they have in themselves, cause if their good for it now they will be just as good and even more demand later. Its not like the have been in this gig for very long.

Bottom line is Chud and Shula are going to want to be part of this and enjoy building Cam, this offense, and team into greatness -not just leave it so soon for greener pastures that will be there for them even just a little bit later.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
