Cam vs Tim

people keep saying the SAME Thing. "Look at what Cam has on offense" but fail to ask, "look at what Cam has on defense." why is that???? and your Andy Dalton line is just funny. Dalton has Jermaine Gresham (young pass catching TE), AJ Green (rookie WR with a ton of promise), Simpson (young WR who came on strong last year when Owens and Ochocinco were hurt and is now turning into a great 2nd WR), Cedric Benson and Andre Caldwell (a good 3rd WR) and that's not to mention that Jordan Shipley is on IR, those WRs are better than Cam's WRs and i havent even gotten into what Dalton has on defense. NOW i agree that The Golden Calf of Bristol doesnt have much talent on offense, BUT on defense, he has a ton of talent there.

okay, i'll give you that. but you need to realize this offense is the best cam's ever gonna get. it's only gonna be worse next year.

dalton does have young, unproven talent, so maybe in the long haul they'll prove to be the caliber of steve smith, who knows. that's a guessing game, but right now, no one outside cincy even recognizes those names.

and be honest, smith is amazing. i'm not a fan of his and i'll say he's great and super tough. olsen and shockey (when healthy) both pro-bowlers are really sure handed. (you should have seen the denver game today...my friend's sister could have caught the ball better than those receivers over there)

cam is lucky that the front office is good and they designed around him and gave him a great cushion of talent.

maybe i'm the only one, but honestly, with that much talent, I personally would expect more than 4 wins. is anyone else disappointed or is everyone just giving him a pass because he's a rook?

Why do you think that?

We are getting back our 2nd best receiver from injury, we should be getting back a better OL, and on top of that, Cam himself will be much improved with another year under his belt. While he may have a "sophmore slump," saying this is the best offense Cam will ever get is probably wrong.

I'm very disappointed and don't buy into the excuses. I know we have a lot of talent on offense, and one of the best receivers in the league. We should have more than 4 wins, and we would have more than 4 wins at this point with a veteran QB under center and this amount of talented players on offense. I expected this type of performance from a rookie, but unlike most, I'm not happy about it. It's two years in a row making the same bonehead move. It's ok to try something new and see what happens. When you do the same bonehead mistake twice in a row, and not only not learn from it, but continue ignoring the problem and making excuses for it, it's pretty sickening and makes one bitter.

no one is giving him a pass, but they realize that this defense is just flat out awful, ADD to that, Mare is (in my book) the worst starting field goal kicker in the league. he has missed clutch kicks all year long and today was another example. Cam has shown talent and his interceptions will tone down in the future. as for the cap, i think those numbers will go down when we shed some highly paid players like Otah and likely Thomas Davis who cant stay healthy and then re-sign others. As for no one outside of Cincy knowing those names. Benson was a HIGH pick who is known, Simpson is more underrated, Shipley (when healthy) is known, AJ Green IS known and in my book will be as good as Smith. he's a rookie and has size and speed. As for Denver, i understand they have poor WRs, but it's clear to me that Newton is a better passer, he goes through progressions better than i have seen from The Golden Calf of Bristol, though i do think The Golden Calf of Bristol can and will be a better passer in the future.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
