Board Burnout

I've definitely got it :(

I still post some on here, but nowhere near the amount I used to. Haven't had the will to sit down and do a full game writeup in weeks.

Life in the real world is more active these days (a good thing :) ) but admittedly even when I do have the time to post here, I don't always have the urge.

Probably a lot of it has to do with a second straight losing season and the general atmosphere that goes with it. Honestly, as much as I enjoy talking football, sometimes it just isn't much fun to come here when the team is down and fans are constantly sniping at players, coaches, and each other.

Anyone else in this boat?

It's not so much other posters as it is that it just isn't much fun right now.

Having another down year on the field is probably the biggest part of it.

I figure next season will renew my enthusiasm.

(at least I hope it will) :sosp:

Bandwagoner!!!

But, seriously, if you want to brighten things up then help bring about that change!

I'd rather complain :sosp:

In all seriousness, I think it'll get better next year. Probably won't have to wait that long, really. The offseason always brings a certain enthusiasm (justified or not).

Probably just a temporary drudge.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
