My Xmas Poem..

Hope you enjoy ;)

Twas the night before Christmas, and in Raheem Morris's house

Not a buccaneer was stirring, not even jack sparrow himself.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that a win soon would be there.

Josh Freeman was nestled all snug in his bed,

with nightmares of Charles Johnson stuck in his head.

And Kellen Winslow in his gown, and Mike Williams in his cap,

they both Had just settled down for a long offseason's nap.

When out on the field there arose such a clatter,

Ronde Barber sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window he flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and screamed a bloody mess.

With a BAMF, so lively and so quick,

He knew in a moment it must be Steve Smith.

More rapid than the eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Beason! now, Godfrey! now, Williams and Stewart!

On, Johnson! On Hardy ! , on Gamble and Olsen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now Smash away! Dash away! Crash away all!"

And then, in a twinkling, he heard on the roof

the prancing and pawing of one big hoof

As he drew in his head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney Cam Newton came with a bound.

He was dressed in all black, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of defenders he had flung on their backs,

And he looked at him hungry, while opening his pack.

The flavor of Winterfresh he held tight in his teeth,

And the swag had encircled his head like a wreath.

He had long legs, and muscles to scare.

That shook the stadium when panther fans were there!

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled the panther fans stalkings, and gave a little smirk.

And tearing open his shirt, a large S was shown

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to the top, to his team and gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

With that being said, Josh Freeman finally awoke,

time to change his sheets, which were covered in yellow soak.

Are you the guy that does all the videos on YouTube? If so, can we start a thread to suggest specific plays that should go in your 2011 Panthers highlight vid? I'll start. A slowmo shot of Stewart flipping Vilma on his ass. Thanks in advance. Oh and nice poem.

    • I definitely respect your opinion more than Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, and Carmelo Anthony (whom I just watched on their show, all saying NOBODY wants to get the Hornets in the post-season). You win.
    • For all the good feelings about Bryce Young, when you read between the lines, it's what DC says and doesn't say that makes us know that Bryce hasn't necessarily been the supercomputer that they thought he would be. This season, Bryce has to make a tangible progression on the field. "A big part of it is being able to operate at the line of scrimmage — not in the huddle — when we want to, and he’s certainly capable of that," Canales said about Young. "It’s not solely on him. It’s a group that’s pretty young. You have to trust all the guys to go up there, communicate verbally or nonverbally and execute what we’re doing. We’ve made huge strides in that regard. His ability to alter things based on what they’re giving you will give us another edge, which he’s continued to grow and had some great examples down the stretch where he identified things they were doing, got us to the right check and capitalized on some plays. Want to see him do that more when it’s appropriate. We don’t need to be changing things just to change it." The implications, perhaps insinuations, are pretty evident. Bryce is just going to have to do better. "And then for Bryce, it’s the identification of early on the cues that the defense are giving us, to be able to eliminate parts of your progression before the ball’s even snapped. That happens with time. I’ve seen quarterbacks really own and master, which allows them to play lightning fast." Obviously Bryce isn't necessarily picking things up as fast as Canales would like, and I can only assume that Canales is making comparisons to Russell Wilson, Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. But, of course, not everyone picks things up at the same rate. Bryce's pace has left Canales wanting for more. During the coming season, I don't believe that it will be good enough for Bryce to start putting things together in December, evidence of the light switch being on is going to have to show itself in September. Basically, it's really the moment that we've all been waiting for, the one that we thought should've happened earlier, the one that brings Bryce's accountability in the spotlight. On an off note, perhaps to that end, we should consider the possible implications upon the draft, but that's another story. Basically, it's time for Bryce to sh¡t or get off the pot. https://roundtable.io/sports/nfl/panthers/news/carolina-panthers-dave-canales-holds-nothing-back-on-bryce-young-in-new-interview
