Todd McShay's 1st NFL Mock Draft

The only player I really like this year is Kalil. That would be sick as fuxx if we could have a double Kalil'd offensive line.

Unfortunately there is a 0% chance we get him without trading up. I think only three teams(Colts, Rams, Vikings) are 100% guaranteed to pick before us, and each of them are definitely hurting on the OL. If the draft order ends up being 1) Colts, 2) Rams, 3) Vikings.. there is a realistic possibility that Luck, Kalil, and Blackmon are all gone before the 4th team picks :(

Really, if we want an immediate upgrade on defense we are going to need some vets that have played in the league a little bit.

I want us to use all of our picks on defense, but I wouldn't be surprised if we go offense with our first pick. And although that isn't what I want, it wouldn't be the end of the world either.

Our biggest needs is CB,OT,and OLB. We should be in a nice spot to take at least one of these guys. If you ask me I think Claiborne and Kirkpatrick will be gone before we pick.So that should leave OT Riley Rieff from Iowa and OT Jonathan Martin from Stanford. I really like Rieff better as a prospect the guy has a mean streak with him. I also wouldn't be surprise is we took a guy like Luke Kuechly to play OLB for us. The guy had 191 tackles this year at Boston college. If I had to bet on it I say the Panthers take OT Rieff with the first pick. We get to lock that left side up for years.

Gettis the forgotten starting WR

With Steve returning to greatness

With Shockey & Olsen very active

With Lafell Stepping up

With Gettis a former starter returning

Unless Blackmond is the next Calvin Johnson

Pamthers would be better to address defense

Stalled drives can be fixed with a full offseason and more exp. in this offense.

We already have enough weapons. Our RB already don't get enough touches. Can people just be cool and let Lafell (25), Gettis(24), Pilares (23), Adams (22),Seyi Ajirotutu (23), and Edwards (23). That's 6 young wr with 1-2 years

exp.

Can we please give them time to develop?

2( Seyi and Armanti) of those guys might not be on the roster next year, plus LN might not be here as well. Gettis is coming off a torn acl what better way to push those guys thru competition. if Blackmon is there and he is an elite talent you take him. think the lions said hey Nick Fairley is on the board, why take him when we got a stud like Suh already.

Blackmon isn't elite, he's more in the mold of a Muhsin Muhammad kind of guy, and if that's the case it wouldn't be a giant upgrade from Lafell/Gettis. Someone will reach for him on draft day because he's probably the most complete receiver but I think Michael Floyd could end up being better.

Claiborne, Kirkpatrick and Coples are all likely to be gone so I think Rieff is the pick. Still, you take the best player available unless they won't hit the starting lineup.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
