Todd McShay's 1st NFL Mock Draft

First of all, no way Blackmon falls to #9. NO WAY that happens. We won't even have the option. Claiborne has got to be the #1 guy on our list. If he goes, Kirkpatrick is the guy. If neither of them are available then fug it, I don't know what to do.

Kirkpatrick as a top ten pick would be a huge waste. He's a good player, but not a Top Ten talent. Look past the Saban "aura" and you'll see that he hasn't put very many starting QBs in the league. As a matter of fact, the Bama corners that have been drafted lately tend to struggle (see: Kareem Jackson).

Unfortunately there is a 0% chance we get him without trading up. I think only three teams(Colts, Rams, Vikings) are 100% guaranteed to pick before us, and each of them are definitely hurting on the OL. If the draft order ends up being 1) Colts, 2) Rams, 3) Vikings.. there is a realistic possibility that Luck, Kalil, and Blackmon are all gone before the 4th team picks :(

I would trade up like a mo-fo to get Kalil.

McShay's mock draft is pretty much summed up once you look at his Detroit Lions' pick. He have them taking another running back, with Montee Ball still on the board. What!?! No way do you overlook a guy who scored 32 rushing TDs and is incredibly healthy. Another blunder is he has the Eagles taking Luke Kuechly over Vontaze Burfict. I think if we trade down, we could take a look at Burfict to play OLB. (I'm not impressed at all with this OLB class)

I want Kalil as well, but I think finding a trading partner will be next to impossible unless we make an incredible offer.

All we can hope for when it comes to Kalil, is for Barkley and Robert Griffin III to look more amazing than Luck in their final games and combine. Then teams like the Redskins and others picking behind us swoop in and pick at 1-3. We should be picking 5-6.

I think we pick closer to 10-11

    • He's right. Tepper ain't the one out there dropping balls, or missing blocks, or putting up having comically bad drafts. He's the one responsible for hiring the people that have kept our scouting department that has been one of the worst at evaluating college talent in the NFL.  He forced the transition to the 3-4 even though we've never fully committed to it and never been able to draft or sign the players to do it.  He's the one that signed used car salesman Fat Fhule that hadn't even won a game against a ranked opponent.  Then he signed a GM that was one of if not the worst GM in the history of the NFL, only to replace him with his assistant.  Frank Reich hired and fired in 9 games. Multiple potential hires for HC turning down interviews.  Changing QBs like underwear. Personal quest to trade for a sexual predator QB and would have if the contract didnt have to be 100% guaranteed.  Terrible contracts Rock Hill debacle  2023 trade up to 1 and him and his wife drafting BY  Worst defense in NFL history. Worst record in major league sports over the time frame of his ownership and the fans need to be patient and understanding of an 8 year and counting rebuild? There being any fans left is a goddamn miracle.
    • He tossed that 300 lb guy like he was a rag doll.
