Nolan Nawrocki has a chance to man-up and admit he was wrong

It was sad and a low point of the Huddle pre-draft when Nawrocki's evaluation came out. It was clear that he is a guy who did very little homework, relied on internet rumors, and valued the opinion of a very small minority over the people who actually knew who Cam Newton was.

I just am not sure where some of his stuff came from unless it came out of Florida. Anybody who has ever coached, met, or known Cam would have told you that analysis was complete bullsh*t. I have friends with close ties to the Auburn program and my father is an alumni and can tell you no one there ever said these things about Cam in public or in private. It didn't come from Auburn

Either Nawrocki did a bad job collecting information or he talked to the wrong people. I said that at the time as well.

It was a pooty job by NN any way you look at it.

Oh, he's saying a lot of things in that article....almost everything he writes in there are back-handed compliments....It's actually not surprising, but in the entire article he never mentions his incorrect evaluations, but points out the "harshest critics in the NFL evaluation community privately have admitted that he has exceeded their expectations as a rookie, acknowledging that they underestimated his competitiveness and fluid release".

Boiling it down, Chud made a crappy Derrick Anderson a Pro-Bowler, thus is probably doing the same thing here and Marty Hurney was a genius for the Olsen trade and making sure the top-notch offensive players were in place to hide Cam's shortcomings.

Isn't it amazing at the number a caveats these fuggers feel like they have to provide for Cam's success that they don't with any other rookie QB in recent memory.

I didn't hear too much, "Yeah Matt Ryan was pretty good but.... but.... it is really only because Mike Smith.... they signed Michael Turner in offseason.... he didn't throw very often.. derp herp"

No... it was only "Matt Ryan is going to be a Super Bowl caliber QB (mostly)" He was ordained very quickly by the media. And Cam has dwarfed anything that Matt Ryan did as a rookie. Yet it is still "Yeah but...... (insert bullsh*t excuse here) is the real reason Cam is successful."

It makes you wonder......... hmmmmmm. KT will tell you the rest.

It's on display in this piece of sheite article....Even has a misleading title to go along with it..."Newton's Star Shines Brightly"....yet nothing in there indicates that he deserves all that much credit or praise right now.

Statements like "If Cam Newton finds a way to win consistently in Carolina — and his record-breaking performance as a rookie showed why his talent was every bit deserving of the first overall pick — he will make it easy for teammates, coaches and fans to forget about any shortcomings." show how this guy is still clinging to the idea that Cam might not be as good as meets the eye. Like I said, the article is filled with back-handed compliments.

The majority of Newton's throws against Tampa Bay were short, simple laterals, swing passes and screens that allowed his supporting cast to create in space. After Newton hit LaFell for a big gain, he came back the following drive looking for big strikes twice, missing Steve Smith wildly coming across the middle and then nearly throwing an interception directly into the hands of an outstretched Geno Hayes. At the start of the next drive early in the third quarter, Newton could be seen apologizing to Ryan Kalil after the center was flagged for a false-start penalty, and it rattled him the next two plays, when he threw a dirtball into double coverage and held on to it too long and took a sack.

When Newton has been pressured this season and opponents disguised coverages — as the Titans did extremely well in Week 10 — Newton has struggled, and admittedly this season said it looked like there were extra defenders on the field. For a rookie, however, his progress has been highly encouraging.

As if these are the only throws Cam can make. 4,000 yards worth of laterals, screens, and swing passes.

He cherry-picked one game where Cam only attempted 17 throws because we were already destroying the Bucs.

Nolan Nawrocki is a coward and a worthless excuse of a football analyst. He does no analysis other than piecing together a bunch of quotes from others and passing it off as "in-depth" assessment.

I'm about to rip him a new asshole. . .

    • Oh it was bad and we had no depth so the injuries just crushed us. Eh we split with the other two bad teams in our division. Still beat the Cards, Raiders (who might have the worst roster), and NYG (who had a pretty bad roster). Our OL and RB were solid. Honestly our defense had no depth and a ton of injuries. Hopefully just being healthy can give them a nice boost. It can’t get much worse lol.
    • Agreed. Our coaches were better than some of the other dumpster fire teams and we played in the NFC South. That helped. Outside that, a simple look at the roster will very quickly reveal it to be the worst in Panthers franchise history. That was obvious before we had even played a game. It was funny that people were surprised we had a historically bad defense. It was so insanely obvious.
    • I take the T Mac, Horn Jr,  and Renfrow additions as a direct shot over the bow when discussing XL. 1 year of dropsies and he finds himself automatically downgraded to WR2, at best, with the t Mac selection. I really hope he understands the gravity of this.  Barring unforeseen circumstances, T Mac will play all but a handful of snaps at WR1. Thielen will be on the field on all third downs, at least. guarantee. Coker will get a ton of snaps. He is just too good to be parked on the bench. JHJ will make the final 53. They will like him returning punts and kicks. He’s has good hands and elite game speed.  Dan still can’t bring himself to watch the SB from 22 years ago. How well do y’all think XL’s 3 drops on the final drive of the Eagles game went over? Dan is as serious as a heart attack when it comes to winning and losing. I don’t see him waiting patiently with developing XL if he is killing drives and/or costing the team games. Look no further than Ginn’s career to see what happens to first rounders with suspect hands.  I’m crazy, yes, but I do think that if Coker comes on, T Mac is who we hope he is and XL has another year of dropsies, he may end up as trade bait. Coker is going to continue to up his already impressive game. I don’t think anyone will argue that. He has a chip. JHJ has a chip. Thielen is Mr first down. XL better show growth.  I just don’t see Dan as the type who is patient with projects.
