it will be luck vs newton and The Golden Calf of Bristol will just be a blip on the radar

Is Cam even worthy of breathing the same rarified air that Luck breathes?

Something tells me Luck isn't going to need to work as hard as Cam to recieve the same praises.. Seeing how he has already arrived without even throwing his first NFL football and everything..:D

oh noes! Rookie Cam with the team on his back throws INTs.......

Peyton Manning had 28, Cam has 16. We are doomed!!! Peyton Manning had garbage yards, a gimmick offense and turned the ball over like Cam only was much worse......

If only we had a FB we could line up at QB and set the game back 20 years.....have the defense give up an average of 16 pts, have miracles occur and walk away with some fluke wins. Damn it Denver....I am so jealous. You might make the playoffs this year and be stuck with jack squat moving forward.....we unfortunately are setting the table to have a dominate QB for years to come.

Off topic but does it seem like teams with Elite QB's act like their qb doesn't throw ints? Everytime a Saints fan argues that Cam throws too many ints I come back with 1) He's a rookie and 2) Drew Brees had 16 ints his first year starting. Of course Saints fans wouldn't know that since they didn't draft him even though the act like they did and developed him.

Same thing with Brady. When Brady throws 4 ints in a game "no biggie he's won a Super Bowl" but everyone wants to crucify Cam after the Lions game...I'm done ranting

Brees had 22 INTs in 2010.

Cam has 16 as a rookie with 1 game to go.....

also, if you look at the all time greats of recent history.....who got signifcant starts (more than 10 as a rookie).

They almost all threw more picks at a higher rate

Aikman -18 INTs - 11 starts

Manning - 28 INTs - 16 starts

Elway 14 INTs - 10 starts

most played a handful of starts....if that as rookies.

In the meantime...

Cam has just set the rookie passing yardage record with 83 fewer attempts and 12 fewer interceptions with only 7 fewer TD's then Manning, set the all-time record for rushing TD's by a QB and shattered the record for total TD's by a rookie and is on the verge of being the first player in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 500 yards.

...are we really still comparing him to The Golden Calf of Bristol?

Wins are a team stat.

i dont think The Golden Calf of Bristol will fade away, i really dont, i never see him being Newton and i never get the comparison anyway, i DO think (on this board) there will be a Luck vs. Newton debate all year long and with very very good reason. that's a debate that should happen on this board. The Golden Calf of Bristol was NEVER going to be a panther, but Luck (if he came out last year) would've been here which is why a Newton and Luck comparison wont bother me.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
