J-Stew - What do we do?

Hey guys,

Been pondering over what we should do with J-Stew and figured Id bring this thought to the Huddle. He is a FA after this coming season and with D-Wills contract, it got me thinking...Do we...

1) Re-sign J-Stew. Just wondering here if he is going to be looking for a D-Will type contract. If so, I dont know if we have the room. Maybe we can restructure D-Will and have the abilities to keep both.

2) Trade J-Stew this offseason. I dont like or want this option, but if a team is willing to give up a 1st for him, would you atleast consider it??

3) Just keep him around one more season and let it play itself out. You never know whos going to have to be released or restructured or just how much money we will have then, so just hold onto him for one more season?

---I dont see this topic being discussed on here, but its something I have wondered about and just want to know what the Huddle thinks we should do with J-Stew. Discuss ---

let Stewart play out the last year of his contract. No need to rush into a deal w/ a RB. If he stays healthy.....resign him.

you don't trade a healthy Stewart...IF, IF you get rid of part of Double Trouble it is Williams that goes after the 2012 season.

A team isn't going to trade for a then 30 year old, going on 31, running back.

I didn't say anything about trading Williams. If your option is resigning a healthy Stewart after 2012 and cutting a 30 yr old DeAngelo.....you resign Stewart and cut DeAngleo.

What I was saying was that no team is going to trade for him, because cutting him shouldn't be an option. The cap hit, which is indicated in RocknRolla's thread, would be gigantic if we released him.

hopefully drafting 1st round RBs are a thing of the past and we grab one next year to start grooming a RB behind these guys.. Stew will be around for a while, we need a guy to replace DWill...

it would be nice to trade the guy before he starts trending down, anything is better than nothing.

    • Latest video I wrote is out. While I try to write with no bias, I have to say I am not 100% sure that the right guy was convicted. Let me know what you think.
    • I quite literally have said multiple times this week that Bryce did not play well on Sunday. What in the world are you even talking about? Jesus Christ son, at least pretend to have a grip on reality rather than trying to constantly make yourself the victim. Hell, look at you now pretending to be victimized by poo emojis and the ignore function because of your views on the QB. I don't give a poo if you like Bryce Young and have had no issues interacting with other posters that are done with him. You, however, cannot have a difference of opinion without resorting to insults. Case in point, your very first response to me in this thread. That is what got you put on ignore and poo emoji'd: you acting like a shithead. We've had this back and forth multiple times now where you say I don't like you because you don't like Bryce, I clarify that I just don't like your engaging in bad faith and acting like a bitchy little teenager whenever your perspective is challenged. I thought that maybe, just maybe we could start the season off on the right foot and have an exchange of ideas without the weird sexual tension or whatever it is that has you all hot and bothered whenever you see my name. Clearly, I gave you too much credit. Back to the toilet you go.
    • It's a QB driven league, which means that all of the parts surrounding the QB have to be in order. No OL? QB isn't going to have time to throw or be able to hand it off. No weapons? Won't matter how well they play, can't catch it for them. Bad coaching? They're not the ones designing and calling plays. Football is one of the ultimate team sports. All 11 players need to be in sync rather than one player being dominant (imo). Hell, even with Tom Brady, not a single one of his rings came without a top-10 defense on the other side of the ball or a top-10 OL in front of him. I can understand people having lost patience with Bryce, especially starting off on the wrong foot for the third season in a row. That's not an issue. The issue I have is with folks being intentionally misleading and attempting to tell other posters what they're not allowed to talk about. Considering how often Red has claimed others have done this to him it is interesting at best, disingenuous at worst for him to turn around and do the same.
