random thought.. if teams unused cap space rolls over, does that imply the amount that rolls over will roll over again should it go unused?

if all unused cap continues to roll over, what's the limit? people can save up cap for 5 years and then buy a team? (hypothetically)

From the CBA (page 96)

A club may carry over room from one league year to the following league year by submitting notice no later then 14 days prior to the start of the next league year indicating the maximum amount of room the club wishes to move over.

Page 59

A team may move 500k from 3 players making at least 500k to be spread over the the 2014-2017 league years in a manner determined in written form by the Club seeking the credit.

The cap will work out with no problems. This is what Hurney gets paid for. I love folks on here who worry as if it their money. We have always had the money to sign who we want and will next year ...

ALL 32 teams do. It's a league wide cap.

And Rogers is the Panthers' cap guy.

Panthers have the third highest cap figures in the league will have to cut and restructure contracts before new league year in march.

Let's see. Young team with huge holes in several roster spots. 3rd highest cap figure in the league.

Hurmey is a cap genius!!1!!!1!1!!!1!

OUr guys have always been pretty good with maneuvering around the cap. I am not worried.

Thomas Davis has a roster bonus of about $9 million. We will never pay that. Beason did say on the radio today that he has been working out with TD and that TD can run a 4.5 right now. however, expect the contract to be rewritten with the roster bonus removed. If Hurney gives him more guaranteed money, he confirms my theory that he is an idiot.

Sports Illustrated in 2010 said that the average NFL lineman makes $1.2 million. Wharton will make over $7 million in 2012. Is our LG worth six times the average lineman salary? Hell no. Look at his stats:

Basically, the interior of the Panther OLine, one that included Kalil who made the pro bowl, ranked 24th in the NFL. Wharton and Hangartner basically sucked.

So, if you cut Wharton and restructure Davis, you can create about $13 million in cap room. Expect both to happen.
