Todd Mcshay on Justin Blackmon to Carolina.

I was listening to Todd Mcshay rankings update and he was saying he think Blackmon should fall in the 5 to 10 range. He says he don't see any of the AJ Green or Calvin Johnson in Blackmon, but he believes he will still be a good receiver in the league. He said the perfect fit would be for him to land in Carolina. If he falls, there is no doubt in my mind we need to take him. My only problem is I just can't see him falling.

I can't see him falling to eight, unless some problem develops or some hot Jr.'s fly up the chart after combine. I could see Minny take him at 3 and pair him with Ponder, ala Dalton and Greene in Cincy. Jacksonville and Washington have needed WR help for years.

Can't believe a Panther fan is willing to listen to Todd McShay.

Mcshay isn't that bad it's that you just can't predict how good a QB can be. The problem that came up was people like Mcshay and Hodge predicted Cam wasn't going to be good. How can you do that and the guy isn't even in the league yet around this time last year? I was on the Cam hugger train the whole time and I got critcized for wanting the Panthers to take him. Look at how it has turned out so far. Over previous years I made picks and predictions that turned out to be pretty good.

Just like Cam would fall out of the 1st round. Sorry Blackmon is a top 3 pick.

I know that Blackmon is a top 3 pick also, based off talent and potential. The key is it's not about what I know it's about what the scouts feel and tell GM's. There has been rumblings that scouts say Jeffrey and Floyd could get taking before Blackmon. There is always situations that will come up and it will cause people to fall. In this draft I believe one move can make Claiborne or Blackmon fall a little bit in the draft.

He will change his mind at least 10 more times and eventually say Blackmon wasn't a need for us. I would love to get Blackmon here, but unless major moves happen in FA, I don't see how we can justify going offense. If Blackmon is there when we pick, hopefully a team behind us is willing to trade up for him. Philly for instance.

I am thinking right now the biggest area for a trade is with Minny switching with Washington. If St Louis picks Kalil, then Minny trades down to 6 spot giving the Skins RGII ahead of the Browns. At 6, Blackmon or Claiborne could still be around and at worst, the get Rieff and an extra pick from Skins.

    • I do believe that Evero gets canned before the end of the season and Capers takes over the D. I think the stage is set for Evero to fall on the sword for a 4-7 win season.  Not saying it would be a set up but I do think if that transpires, the seat under DC might start getting pretty warm, rightly or wrongly. That's my read on Tepper. I am not at all excited nor am I dreading anything. I just have extremely low expectations so I am just waiting to see what this revision of the roster looks like.  I FEEL like we are better on paper than last season's team but I wouldn't be remotely shocked if we were as bad or worse. Again, I do think this is the 2nd worst roster in franchise history overall. What will really make me happy is for some of the big questions to finally be answered(Bryce, Ikey, Horn, etc). I would like to see a real expansion of our core player pool(basically just D. Brown currently). I want to see a couple of hits in free agency and a couple in the draft. If we accomplish those things, I have faith that we are at least moving in the right direction after many, many years doing the opposite.
    • Considering our depth. Certainly kick the tires.
    • I am not so sure about that. I don't know that he is so soley offensively focused as winning focused. But, not really in a productive way. I get the impression he wants to be like Robert Kraft and take credit for "taking a risk on Bill Belichick" and being successful.  His track record indicates that in the NFL and in his business life.
