Lions CB Aaron Berry to angry Lions fans: ‘Go back to being broke and miserable’

lol

Lots of Detroit folks ‒ players and fans ‒ were disappointed after Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints used them as a doormat yesterday. Unfortunately, the disappointment of those fans clashed with the frustration of the players and some ugliness rose to the surface.

Lions cornerback Aaron Berry, a second-year player out of Pitt, ended up tweeting this to some angry fans:

"Y'all can go back to being Broke & Miserable…now back to regular scheduled programming…"

Berry deleted the tweet (as well as the subsequent apology), but as everyone on the Internet knows, you can't really untweet a tweet. It's out there forever.

You need to know that players who trash fans may find their income affected- not the marginal players who aren't gonna make a ton of money anyway, but the big name guys who could lose millions in endorsements because fans don't like 'em.

Yall need to know something...Players don't give a rats ass about the fans. Its true, its a job. Its a business pure and simple. You think they risk life and limb for you? Hell no is all about the money. Don't ever forget that.

Could not be further from the truth. Most players know without the fans, there is no money.

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
