He finished 3rd behind Colston and Preston Parker of TB with a catch percentage of 97.3. While that sounds awesome, I don't really know how to take this stat considering it has Legadu with a better catching percentage (95.7) than Smitty (95.2).

Anyway, great to put a number with the visual proof of improvement.

Naanee 95.7<--------Hard to believe:eek:

what's hard to believe is how people come up with the idea that a few dropped balls early in the season defines a guy throughout the rest of the season..

that and everyone crying about LaFell having bricks for hands is why the huddle is a joke to the few rational people who stick around...

people rather attach their opinion to a stigma rather than the games themselves.. but hey, that's all gravy in the name of being fanatics right!? who cares about having a reasonable opinion, the huddle would be boring!

I think Naanee was targeted twice in the four downs at the end of the Arizona game, both were incomplete. One of those looked like it could have been snagged for a touchdown if he would have been a bit more outside. Off target throw or bad route? Couldn't say either way, but that was the beginning of the critical posts pegging Nannee as a poor receiver. I always had trouble seeing why folks thought he was terrible. Lafell and Naanee turned out to be good for each other competition-wise IMO.

You would have to take into account where on the field each receiver usually is in order for this stat to make any sense. Since 89 is often doubled this typically puts him in places where you have to be creative to get him the ball. The stat, to me, only says LaFell caught better than Leg and has nothing to do with any of the other nfc south receivers' stats on that list since they werent in our offense.

Smitty had a 61% catch percentage.. LaFell 64%... Naanee 58%...

all pretty good in the grand scheme of things.... (minimum of 50 passes)

Smitty had 7 dropped passes, which tied him with 11 receivers, and put him in the top 10 of passes dropped in the league..

LaFell and Naanee had less drops.. but on considerably less targets..

Something to note is that Legs knew the offense a lot better too when we started this year. Gotta give it to LaFell for coming through in a lot of games this year, Legs improved too. Im very satisfied with where we're at on that. dont know if Tutu needs to be around but we'll see what happens next year.

Nah, we need linemen and db's

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
