I want Ravens-49ers, but I feel like its going to be Pats-Giants

Last week:

-Ravens nearly lost at home to a team we beat just a few weeks back,

-Pats completely manhandled a team that had all sorts of momentum

-Giants took out the NFL's undisputed best team, away at Lambeau no less

-49ers got really lucky last week against the Saints- lots of balls bounced their way

This week:

-Ravens need a huge game from Flacco to torch the weak NE secondary- not happening; their defense is aging and Tom Brady looked unstoppable last week

-49ers need to dial up some magic again, look for the Giants defensive front to put some pressure on Alex Smith- I expect this game to be much closer than the AFC game

One lesson learned from this crop of teams....Super Bowl winners take all sorts of paths to get there...no formula or record determines the outcome when all these match-ups must play out first. Funny how the Super Bowl titles shake out...someone ought to concoct a formula to keep a franchise in the mix every year....

I'm hoping for the Ravens to win it all, but it's gonna be tough for them this week.

No matter what the final score is, a different Ravens team is gonna show up Sunday than what we saw against Houston.

Go Ravens! Go Niners!

Conventional wisdom says go with the hot team. Right now the hot team is the Giants. The Pats are on a roll as well. So, I guess it is the Giants and Pats.

Personally, I have no vested interest in any team left, so I will watch for the sheer joy of knowing that soon, real soon, it will be us in these games.
