Tuck rule memories

yeah, that one was a lot more obvious though. cutler lost control of the ball when his arm was clearly going forward.

Actually the ruling was wrong. His arm moved forward but the ball went from a position backwards after his release, which should have been deemed a fumble.

I understand the rule, but was this not the first time the rule was called as it was in this instance?? Thats where the questions come out.

No. This rule was designed to cover the asses of the NFL after such a completely idiotic call.

I also agree about the whole 9/11 thing.

It was a fumble. The ruling said that his arm was going forward, so it was an incomplete pass. But you watch and it was basically Brady stopping his throwing motion and tucking the ball towards his body. He even touched it with his left hand.

After he tucked it, it was knocked loose, which should have been a fumble. The tuck rule is in place to make the motion of tucking the ball not a fumble, but once the motion is over and the ball is tucked it can be ruled a fumble if the ball is knocked loose.

I have watched it many times as well, IMO the ruling on the field was correct. I can't even remember why it was reviewed, under 2 minutes? Challenge? I don't know. But the Raiders got fugging screwed.

This, it was a fumble... stupid tuck rule.
