Panthers want to know if Chudzinski is still a candidate for Bucs job

People are taking this way to personal. He's advancing his career. That means better opportunities and money for him and his family. If you're part of a work team at your job and another department is offering you a potential promotion are you going to say no?

It has nothing to do with being disloyal to the Panthers. Hell he's been here for one year its not like hes a lifer. Like everyone he wants to advance his career and has goals...sure it's frustrating to Ron and the rest of the staff but I'm sure Ron understands because he's been in the exact same position before. Its just the nature of the business. And I write this as someone who still hates Peppers for how he left.

Things to keep in mind:

Chud has no ability to dictate the Bucs' timeline, and won't withdraw himself from consideration...shouldn't have to unless he wants to.

Rivera already said he has a plan in mind in the case of Chud's departure.

We absolutely embarrassed the Bucs twice this past year. They would absolutely enjoy twisting the knife a bit here.

Now that the other vacancies have been filled, the Bucs' sense of urgency has diminished.

Delaying their selection beyond a reasonable amount of time isn't really in their best interests at all, you'd think they'd want someone on staff by the Senior Bowl....

He's interviewed with any team that is willing to listen. He wants to be a head coach. If we don't lose him this year we are likely to the next.

I have no problem with him taking whatever chance he gets to move up. I wish the guy the best. That doesn't mean though that we should just stand by with our dick in our hand.

If there's no resolution after the superbowl then we need to move on.

Dont get me wrong, I know that you are right about demanding another interview, but I just think that Chud could gain alot of points when it comes to a future job oppertunity if he shows some respect and loyalty to the team that he works for now.

Blow them off, and do your job. It will make you look good to better franchises who may have an opening soon.

Tampa is a bad job for HC, and look at how they are treating him, stringing him along like a peice of meat. Is that the type of organization that he wants to work for? A team that is so stupid that they wont even hire a coach in time to have enough offseason to get all of his 'ducks in a row'?

Maybe it is just me, but I wouldnt want to work somewhere that makes stupid decisions that would affect my ability to be able to get my team organized in time for next season to begin.

You never know.....realistically this could be Chuds best shot at landing a HC gig for awhile. maybe few jobs open up with the huge turnover we have seen recently.....he might be far down on the list if only a couple jobs open up the next few years

You would think they are waiting on a Superbowl team coordinator waiting this long and just stringing Chud along? Either way, the draft and the lack of free agents that come in will be mostly Defensive players. The offense is stacked with players, if he does or does not come back.

Rumor has it they're really interested in Giants DC Perry Fewell, so you may have a point here. I feel your pain, but it's business in the NFL and we'll just have to let this play out, folks.

I think that making a move to show commitment to his own team will speak volumes about his character, and will make him a much better candidate for future jobs. He is paid to do his job here in carolina.

Show commitment to your organization by demanding an answer. Other, more lucrative franchises will take notice of his loyalty next time they need a HC.

Yeah, screw the people interviewing you for a HC job. That will really help him getting future interviews.

    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
    • I think the Njoku interest revealed intent and the type of TE they want.  I really expected more from Sanders.
    • Defensive tackle (or end in a 3-4 base) is suddenly a rather significant need.  It seems to be a forbidden topic on the Huddle.  Well I am going to unforbidden it for this thread. When we lost Robinson, it was a salary cap cutting move, saving us about $9m or so, I think.  That suggests that we are going to get cheaper, younger, and maybe, more multi-dimensional.  First, what did we lose in Robinson: (Charlotte Observer)  "Robinson co-led the team in sacks (5.5) in 2024, and he ranked second among Carolina linemen, behind Brown, in sacks (2.5) in 2025. (Derrick) Brown played on 76.4% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps last year, while Robinson played on 62.2% of those reps. No other defensive lineman played more than 38.3%, as free-agent addition, Turk Wharton, dealt with injuries throughout his first season in Carolina. Wharton played in just nine games, producing 36 total tackles and two sacks. He’s guaranteed $14 million this upcoming season. Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article314544998.html#storylink=cpy OK, about Turk Wharton.  The Observer claims that he and Bobby Brown III were to rotate into the Robinson DE position, but that is too weird for my head to comprehend.  First, Brown III is a NT by trade and Wharton weighs about 280 lbs and is not stout vs. the run.  Brown III is not going to provide the internal pass pressure; he is basically designed to take on double teams and dig in.  Wharton, on the other hand, had a PFF score in those 9 games of 40 or so.  In fairness, he was playing with injuries, but Damn.  PFF gives me a higher rating at the Golden Corral buffet.  In other words, we need a true DT who can fill the two thirds of snaps that we just released.  We can't count on Turk and Brown III is not the answer.  Cam Jackson?  Same as Brown.  Have your people do what they do best.  Furthermore, Derrick Brown probably should limit his snaps.  Playing more than 3/4 of the snaps is hard on the body.  A tired player in the trenches is more prone to lower-body injuries. We need a player who can give Derrick Brown some relief and play opposite him as well.  Turk can rotate in but he needs to shoot gaps and give Guards and tackles fits--a change of pace.   I have to think we are going to draft DT much sooner than most Huddlers realize.  My favorite, you didn't ask? Probable second-rounder Gracen Halton (No. 59 overall, according to ESPN's March 2026 update). Once considered a Day 3 sleeper, his 2026 NFL draft stock has exploded into Round 2 or 3 due to elite interior pass-rush metrics.  Projected Round: 2 (Early to Mid) Key Traits: Elite explosive, quickness, 12.2%+ pass-rush win rate, and positional versatility to play inside on passing downs. Combine Highlights: Led defensive tackles in the vertical jump (36.5”) and broad jump, per Sports Illustrated. Draft Stock: Rising fast due to consistent 2025 production (7 tackles for loss) and a "freak show" combine performance, according to Stormin in Norman.  Halton is considered a high-motor playmaker and a potential Day 2 standout, notes   I would not be surprised to see DT on day 2.
