Bible is written by man....not God. Therefore you can't deny man has put spins on things that were not intended as such.

How many people on this Earth has God created who literally spent a life time w/o ever having the chance to be exposed to Christiantiy. The world wasn't always this small. Therefore you would have to believe God created those who had no chance at anything but damnation.

I don't buy that.

You see smaller examples of the different perspectives within the Christian religion itself. Baptist, Catholic, Methodist.....all paint slightly different paths.

yes, each holy book says that.....but that is one of the things I chaulk up to man's influence. Christians can't even decided which word/path the Bible puts you on. That is just a smaller example of what I think the big picture is.

Him is just habit.

I'm rather agnostic to organized religion, however, I believe that the most important thing we can learn is to do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.

Do you want someone pushing their beliefs on you?

Do you want someone hurting you or your loved ones?

Do you like it when someone comforts you in times of need?

Do you like it when someone helps you without demanding help in return?

you could go on and on. It's rather simple.

I could never understand why man trifled himself with something man simply does not know. Why do people think they have to know the answer to everything? Fact is we don't know, so go on and live your life as a good human being and have a blast. If we were meant to know we would but alas we don't and there are millions of dead bodies to prove it.

The problem with religion is people try to convert a personal concept into a global blanket. In reality, most people treat religion like a buffet, they pick and choose what they like the best.

My personal motto is believe in whatever you want, as long as you aren't hurting people physically, emotionally or spiritually. If your motivation to be a good person is Jesus Christ, the Bible, or a purple unicorn what's the difference?

Actually, The Christian, Muslim and Jewish faiths all worship the same God, but yet they all still try to kill each other. It is rediculously stupid...

I cant remember exactly, but God spoke to Abraham about 2500BC and told him to do something (involving an inheritance of some sort)that made his sons turn against each other.

His son Issac (the father of Jacob) inherited the right to lead the jewish people, but his brother Ishmeal became jealous (or something similar), left the group forever and his followers became the inhabitants of Palestine. This act was somehow directly related to the beginnings of Islam, although Mohammed wasnt born for almost 3000 years after this event. He somehow laid the roots for what would become the Islamic religion.

Then 2500 years later the thing with Christ happened and divided the Christians from the Jews

Sweet so we can expect Jesus to be born in about 982 years.
