David DeCastro

I think Dwayne jarrett was more of the need pick and kalil was the BPA

I remember that Draft it was a similar move to Clausen last year. A supposed 1st round pick falls into the 2nd. He was there BPA as Clausen was. They just both happened to be at positions of need.

Everyone on here talking about how G is not a need needs there head examined. The right side of our line sucks balls and Decastro played at RG and is one of the most dominating G to come out in years. If you want to make the case that D is a higher priorty I would agree. What I don't agree with is that there is some sure fire pick there on D that has value.

I hear Brockers a lot but I am not convinced he will be anything more then a solid run stuffer (which has even less value in the top 10 as a G). Claiborne will be long gone and I don't want Kirpatrick at all so really its boils down to Brockers, Reiff, or Decastro.

DeCastro would instantly improve the O-line.

Yes the defence needs help, but protecting Newton is our other priority.

defense takes the highest priority and cold be considered the biggest aid to newton and the offense. it takes pressure off the offense.

Keeping Newton upright is my biggest concern.

The defence can be fixed with a few shrewd acquisitions. There isn't an elite defensive talent in this draft that we'd be passing over at #8.

Bpa gets a lot of press, but when you look at the first round, you generally want value and an instant starter. If we traded down into themid teens, and no brokers was available, then decastro would represent good value. He is one of the best pulling guards to come out in quite some time. I would think two yrs ago under fox with his run first offense, decastro would represent value at the 9th pick
