Car.Accident Question

On my way to school this morning I got rear ended at a red light right in front of it. I got hit, then got smacked into the other lane and rear ended again. This is the 2nd major accident my cars been in over the last 13 months. Last accidents cost to fix was 15k all said and done. The man at the bodyshop said from looking at it he thinks it will be around 8-10gs. What are the chances my car would ge totaled out? Although its been a safe car in the 2 accidents, I just dont feel its safe to drive anymore. If I go to sell its sure to be worth poo if I go to sell. Wat do?

Pretty sure it's not your call on whether it's totalled out or not. If you're someone that trades in for new cars or sells them (versus someone like me that drives until wheels fall off), then you should get it fixed and get what you can out of it.

Yea I know I dont have a say. I was just seeing if anyone had a similar experience or works in the field that can put in .02. Chances are its gonna end up getting fixed, I owe 12 on it and after the 1st accident I only could get 12 on a trade in.

The insurance co has a vested interest in making sure that the car is safe for future use. The lawsuit from them refusing to total it and something tragic happening would be astronomically more expensive than just writing the car off now.

As a rule I don't trust those bastards any further that I can throw their office building, but I'd think that if they paid to fix it you could be comfortable in the fact that the car was ok to drive.

Whats the year, make, model and miles? Nobody can possibly give you an indication of whether or not its totaled without that pertinent info.

Insurance Adjuster here. Other posters are correct. Whether or not your car get totalled out depends on book value of car vs. total cost of repairs. Once the repair cost hits a certain threshold ( 75% of cars value usually ) it will be totalled. If not totalled you may want to ask about getting a payment for diminshed value of vehicle( especially if this is 2nd major wreck involving car). Not all companies do this though. ZCustom is right... Use Wilburn.

    • Sounds encouraging.  I agree about the LB....I was CERTAIN second round would be a LB.  I would also like to add that, on paper, DL looked solid--but only 1 performed well in 2025 (2 if you count Robinson, who is now gone).  I am guessing they feel that the LB play will improve with the improvement up front--logical.  Remember the old rule (not sure who said it first) "You build from the inside out, front to back."   We drafted, in my early opinion, a starting NT and C this year.  inside out, front to back.
    • Agree--I think a mid-level tackle but he could prove to be an elite G--not sure how he would do at RT--or maybe Freeling---lotta moving parts--but I would look at him at G if mid-level T is his ceiling--he has been improving, but the injury..
    • Worked an event that many players were at including Ickey. Talked to him, looks and walks around good/normal. Taylor Moton released a new Tequila with his partner Matt Kahlil. Taylor looks great and is psyched for the season. He's such a good guy. Even Derrick Brown, very focused. It's like a quiet, calm I'm gonna rip through you confidence. Building his forever home and sticking around CLT. Bryce stopped in, but was upbuilding talking to the guys, not drinking, smoking cigars like others. There was little different aura with them, almost a quiet confidence, some fun. Reminded me of the 2013-2018 era. Had an event Tuesday with TD (he was there last night too) and he thinks the team looks real good, maybe just needs an another LB. He loves the Devin Lloyd pick up.  No negative comments, just giving a nice update on some players.
