Help me with my stubborn dog please!

I've tried everything to teach our dog to speak. Just a little bark is all I ask for but all she does is make whiny sounds.

She knows how to do all the normal things they should know like sit, stay, come, & shake. She also knows how to give a high five, roll over, she goes to her crate on command and when we point our finger at her and say "Bang!" She falls over and plays dead.

She's great at barking. She barks all the damn time. The main thing I want her to do is to bark and stop barking on command.

Any suggestions?

I'm confused. So the dog can't bark or she is great at barking?

If I made that confusing, I'm sorry. Yes she can bark. I want her to bark and stop barking on command.

A problem we have is she barks a lot when we let her out. I don't mind a little barking but I think it annoys the neighbors. She's usually let out for about 5 minutes at a time so she doesn't do it for long but it still bothers me.

I'd recommend one of those electric bark stop collars to get her to stop barking on demand...some will say they are cruel, but you don't need to zap the poo out of her with it...just a gentle little warning and she'll learn quick. Borrow one from someone if you can...they'll learn it real quick.

to make her bark on demand is a whole different story...just practice, practice and then practice. Make sure to reward her everytime.

To be honest, I don't think it bothers my neighbors as much as it bothers me. They are usually pretty good about telling us stuff.

Like I said she's only outside for about 5 minutes at a time. She's a drama queen & doesn't like to be too hot or too cold so she prefers being inside.

I just wish she weren't so stubborn.

    • Ultimately it's up to the other safety prospects to clearly outplay Scott. I think when that happens on tape against other teams it'll be addressed. I think none of them have done that definitively and consistently yet.
    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
