Adidas Signs Robert Griffin III

I have a feeling Luck's not going to be that great as a pitchman.

He may play like Peyton on the field, but I don't think he'll work as well in advertising. Peyton's arguably the best athlete pitchman ever. Luck strikes me as being more like Brady on that front. What few commercials got made with Brady all sucked (likely due to the fact that he has the charisma of a dead, rotting fish).

However great his football skills may turn out to be, Luck isn't exactly the most charismatic guy either. He comes off as a good kid, but I doubt he'll make a great salesman.

My pet peeve is how these QBs are being lumped together by our media. Cam and RGIII are always being compared to the Mike Vicks and Luck automatically gets to go to the head of the class because he's going to be better than the Peytons of the world. Why is that?

Also, it's funny how much we hide our true colors behind the media' perception of these athletes. Last year Cam was painted as a convict with all kinds of character issues by media and based on nothing more than speculations. RGIII is now the benefactor of a media's 180 because of how they treated Cam last draft season and them getting ther preferred QB going off the draftbboard 1st. Interesting.

Cam and RGIII both ooze charm and charisma in different ways. Cam it's his over-all self confidence. RG III, it's more his intellectual confidence. I give Cam's commericial the upper hand because of the music and he's not saying anything. He's just doing.

Your eally think RGIII is not getting the background scrutiny that Cam did because the media realized they were wrong about Cam? I don't think they are related at all. Unless I am wrong I don't think RGIII has any known past issues to scrutinize does he?

Your pet peeve is QB's getting lumped together by the media yet you are lumping QB's together for no apparent good reason at the same time?

RG3 is definitely benefitting from what Cam went thru last draft. A lot of scouts and media types are afraid of being deemed racially biased, so they've gone easier on him. They still stop short of proclaiming him better than the great hope. So its not like theyre elevating him above Luck, just tryin to regain credibility after throwing it out the window last year.

It makes me laugh that people can't admit Cam had question marks coming in.

RGIII has no such question marks about his past, only about his future. Cam's father, with or without Cam's knowledge, tried to make a boatload of cash for Cam's services in college. RGIII comes from a disciplined military background.

RGIII showed loyalty to the man that recruited him and changed his commitment from Houston to Baylor. Cam took advantage of being a college athlete and was arrested, accused of cheating on papers, etc. Cam eventually had to leave Florida and attend a JC before being allowed to play in D1 again. Cam spent 3 years at 3 different schools, showing no loyalty to any coach, only stepping over them when something better came calling. RGIII played all his years at the same university for the same coach and helped build a program.

Griffin spent 4 years in college, starting 3 of them. Cam spent 3 in college, starting 1 of them.

There will be tons of questions about his ability to play at the pro level, but to question his past would be insane, it's nothing close to Cam's. Cam brought everything on himself and to blame race is the easy way out for other blacks that feel wronged in their life. You won't see it with RGIII because he hasn't given anyone reason to question those things.

    • Brother, I don't want to drop the amount of rage I have about BY and the fuging Pickett signing....when murray was free, tua was free, lance was about the same cost. But you know during practice when other teammates see and hear the passing for any of them compared to BY, he may cry right then.... It does feel like Dan and Tillis were told "make BY work, by any means". You recall the first plan was to drop 163 million on OGs to protect the little fellow.......then drafting WRs and they even signed his buddy WR this FA period..... I just go back to Dan Morgan wanting instill competition throughout the roster and T-H-A-T is your QB room ??? bloody hell, what a joke and disrespect to the whole roster outside that group....
    • Id drop this in here- I fully believe nearly ALLL the Tmac hate leading up to the draft came from the Panthers..... There was plenty and it was believable, cause many did just that. There was huge questions and about 85% of the huddle took the cheese hate.  I do have this too- Banks has a broken feet and a history of feet/ankle issues. If he didn't, 19 would have been fair landing spot. Of course, but Prince spoke highly of him in a Twitter post....former teammates and all, but he still made the post and I haven't seen other players prince did so for.... Maybe the 51st on banks, but maaaaaannnn big men with broken feet broken its feels like it never ends well. I mean after brain, spine, I think Feet are the career killer leader.  Draft DL feels weak in every way.    Last morsel- there's a weak rumor of Panthers trading for DT Payne out on the vine....(his price I feel kills it, but new contract solves that for trades)....
    • If we go all in and sell out with Bryce as our QB, it will even more entrench the idea that Tepper is at minimum running the QB room for me. Now i could be wrong and Dan really is that confident in Bryce all by himself, but nothing this team has done in the past 3 offseasons leads me to believe that there hasnt been some noise from big T. He's admitted that he walks through the office making his opinion known. To me, Bryce's output has just not generated that kind of confidence that we are playoff worthy other than against the Rams. Against the SB champs, just damn.
