If the first 8 picks go the way of this mock (Claiborne, Kalil, Coples, and Reiff off the board), I think you have to take Brockers. The ONLY other choice (if you can't trade back) might be Jenkins.

Ingram is a good player, but I still see him as more of a 3-4 LB......but he MIGHT be in play.

I agree. OT wanters: too high for Martin and Adams. CB wanters: Too high for Jenkins and Kirkpatrick. DE wanters: A bit early for Upshaw or Ingram if you want them as a 4-3 DE (maybe not too early for 3-4 teams), and there are no OLBs or S worth a crack. Too early for DeCastro as well.

Brockers, however, might be a solid chip to play in seeking a trade (if you do not want Brockers). I hear NE would love him.

anyone else find it amusing that every single mock has the dolphins picking before us? The media has so little respect for the Panthers that they don't even give us a chance to win a 50/50 coin toss

i find it more amusing that anyone would look to this as a sign of some kind of bias against the panthers.

It kinda comes down to what we all know at this time. After Jacksonville, there are picks that will be valued all over the board. Jenkins at 9 or 17? Same with Still, Brockers, DeCastro and everyone else. Just doubt there will be a trade down scenario, so we will just have to like someone better at our pick and live with it.

Brockers would be my pick in this scenario also because of potential. Think Jenkins has reached his ceiling and we can get a good, not great CB in round 2.

Assuming its too early for any player mentioned is silly.I am guessing you are basing that opinion on mock drafts that you have seen.

Those mocks are never close to accurate outside of the top 5 or so. If its too early for them, then who do you think its not too early for? Do you see what I'm saying?

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
