Not sure what to make of letting both Senn and Connors go

I understand neither of these guys are starters but the truth is they were getting more playing time than our starters. With Beason coming off an injury that odds are he will not come back at the same level and TD coming of yet a another surgery I honestly dont understand it.Maybe Conner wanted starting money but damn how nuch cheaper can we go if we are trying to add depth replacing Senn.

Do these guys not fit the JJ defense? Why do we keep adding these 3-4 outside linebackers?

Please someone let me know whats going on.

I really do not see this as "letting Connor go".

There are teams out there that will sign him to be their starting MLB. He will NOT get that here.

The only way that he would even consider staying here is if we significantly overpaid for him....outbidding teams who are offering him starter money , just to be out backup.

I like the move, white linebackers don't cut it anymore, minus a few. Maybe we will be switching to a 3-4. Maybe we will sign or draft some lbs better than those two.

You are right they are both white guys lol

I guess I am not as confident as most that the Beason we are used to will be able to play at the same level give his injury

I would have liked Senn on ST, but he's not a starting LB in the NFL. Maybe he'll come back after he explores other teams.

Senn only played because we had so many guys on IR and Connor is a 2 down linebacker. Senn is not going to be starter material and Connor is going to be too expensive to keep although he is till useful to the team. e are going to upgrade that ppositiion and I know where to start. Kuechly in the first would help solidify the group and give you a starter if Davis or beason struggle. Find another guy in FA and the problem is solved.

I understand your point, and agree with you.

However, he WILL BE the starting MLB next season. Connor knows that and want a starting gig. Very little way to keep him here other than significantly over pay for him....with is bad business and he is not good enough to be worth it.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
