Yet Another Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

Round 1 Quinton Coples DE

A lot of people are extremely high on Coples because he reminds them of Julius Peppers. A lot of other people have a seething hate for Coples because he reminds them of Julius Peppers. We need to bolster the pass rush and DT looks like it would be a reach here with Cox, Poe or Brockers. If Coples is here take him. If not. Dre Kirkpatrick

Round 2 Josh Robinson CB

Gilmore will be gone by this time and think that Robinson is the BPA at this time. I don’t think he is a shut down guy but is quality and can start opposite Gamble. If we miss on Coples in Round 1, Andre Branch would make a lot of sense here.

Round 4 Tony Bergstrom OT/OG

Utah guy has experience and can rotate in immediately. College OT that will likely play OG. Needs to add some strength but otherwise a solid pick. Big and ugly. Fits in well with our OL

Round 5 Terrell Manning OLB

I think he will slightly regret coming out early but he could be a steal. Small guy that plays big. Immediate help on special teams and can make an impact in the rotation.

Round 6 Tramain Thomas FS

Decent player. Very atheletic. Lets see what happens…

Round 7 Timothy Condon OT

Smart and Big.

Round 7 Punter

Someone. Anyone. I have done 0 research on punters so take the best one available.

dont like the josh robinson pick.

the ones that keep mocking us taking robinson, have yall even seen tapes of him?

do yall even know who he is ?

yes, have you? 3 year starter, 10 picks with 30 plus passes defended. speed, 5'10 190 lbs. might want to go back and look at the UCF game when they played UGA and check out the match up of him vs AJ Green.

Mayock didn't believe cam was first a rounder.

I can tell you Robinson is not goin to be a first . He may even slip into the third.

I have hosely, gillmore, mannifield ahead of him

There's no way you knew those stats off the top of your head.

why not?nah before the college season and during i do my research and watch just about every game that i can. (4-5 a week)i read what the niks say to compare, but this guy has been on my radar.i remembered watching the bowl game vs UGA and was impressed with how much talent and balls he had playing against the best WR prospect.he will be a gamer.

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
