Restaurant Complaint Letter

Is this ok to send? I'm more irritated that they added gratuity onto my bill....

I've enjoyed eating at ___________ for close to 10 years now. Tonight however it was not the case.

I'm not one to usually write or comment on food service as there are many elements that come into play but tonight's overall experience warranted this email.

The server wasn't knowledgeable about the menu, was not attentive, forgot the ketchup on multiple trips, and for some weird reason charged gratuity on our bill for a 4-top. I tip 20% for bad service and that’s what she would have ended up with tonight but I left the amount she added on. I thought she might have been new. Is this something that _________does now? I cannot get over how weird the experience was tonight….only because it’s not typical.

Our food was also poorly done. The lettuce on the quesadilla was brown and wilted, the sweet potato fries were cold, and the breading on the chicken fingers (which might be one of my favorite items on any menu) was soggy.

No one complained though. We are pretty low maintenance. It wasn’t till I got home and talked to my fiancé and mentioned the poor dining experience that she spoke up. We both thought that it was pretty uncharacteristic of your past and wanted to bring it to your attention.

To be honest, I would focus on the forced gratuity and not so much on the quality of service, even though it does sound like it sucked.

Random, but this weekend I went to two different restaurants in Hartford where my waiter just forgot my drink order entirely... twice... despite bringing everyone else at the table the drinks they ordered. I swear I am not rude or anything, I have no idea what was up with my luck this weekend lol

I hate when people are rude to servers. If something is wrong, I'll let them know but I'm very polite about it. You never really know who's at fault for fuged up food.

yep. but it is her fault for forgetting the table, bringing soup with more poo on the saucer than in the bowl, and the CATSUP!!!!

yeah... I get frustrated because my future mother in law is sometimes a little testy with servers and it embarrasses the hell out of me.

yeah understandable... I suppose it's kind of like, if the service was good you wouldn't have minded the included gratuity?

Agreed, sometimes you get a bad server. She may not even realize it either, some people are just stupid, or haven't been trained properly. I tend to deal with things that aren't really a big deal rather than making the server run circles. I worked in a ton of restaurants during my younger years, I know what it's like.

When I'm at a restaurant and I see a table near me being assholes to servers (it's sickening how often you see this too), I usually go out of my way to talk about those people in a not so nice manner with my voice projected in their general direction.....discretely of course.

I would have still thought it was weird since there was 4 of us.

    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
    • Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
