Panthers Sign Wr Chris Manno

I think he was brought in to push Pilares and compete for our #3 WR & PR/KR. They both seem to have the attributes to be a Wes Welker, Danny Amendola type slot WR with above average quickness and toughness. A big part of playing the slot is developing a chemistry with your QB which seems to be something he already has with Cam from training at IMG. Worst case scenario if he never sees the field, is that Pilares becomes a better player.

It interesting that nobody even bothered to notice the guy never made a roster, never made a catch, doesn't a single stat in pre-season yet he was going to be the next Wes Welker and make our team as the potential 3rd receiver.

this place never ceases to amaze me

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
