Floyd Could Now Be Drafted Over Blackmon

I'll tell you what, you have to like what Jimmy is doing. Most people in his situation would have given up all hope by now, but he is still trying to get better and help himself as well as a former teammate out.

On a another note, any wide receiver that can make Clausen look like a good quarterback should instantly top the NFL Draft rankings for wide receiver. Hell, not even Steve Smith could make Clausen look like a decent quarterback.

It's April and now it's time for agent/teams to start spreading the typical disimformation in axn attempt to raise/lower draft positions. Blackmon is now compared to Boldin and Floyd to Fitzgerald. Someone releases Clairborn's low test score to lower his appeal. Expect daily talk of who is being brought in but the player actually drafted may well say that he was never shown any interest by the team beforehand.

That is just so wrong. Sure Floyd could make him look good when they are the only two on the field. Put a D on the field and Jimmy boy is instantly confused. Smitty couldn't help that.

This is my opinion so don't get butt hurt

I think it would be a very smart move to get Floyd with our #9 pick. Yes, our defense sucked hard last year, but if anyone can turn a bunch of scrubs into a good unit its Rivera. He said he would take more control of our D, and with a full off season of OTA's and workouts, he could vastly improve our defense quicker than others project.

What I think is very important to our FO is continuing to develop Cam. It makes sense to me that we start a good young combo that would be elite for years and years. We most likely wont be picking this high in a long time barring a trade or whatever, so i think we should snag that high caliber WR while we have the chance.

Floyd would fit our offense so perfectly, better than Blackmon IMO. This dude is the next Vincent Jackson! We would have the most Physical and Explosive offense in the NFL hands down.

    • AT got what he deserved. Be gone and enjoy those 4 catches and the bench and your pay cut
    • we have been bad offensively basically every game Rico Dowdle hasn't gone full Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson on folks.
    • Strongly disagree with the premise here. Without getting too into it, the biggest gripe for many has always been his footwork and pocket presence.  Shallow drops, happy feet, bad awareness - his overall technique is highly unconventional and not beneficial to his size/frame.  His upper body gets mad out of sync with his lower, drops back parallel to the LOS, erratic behavior. When you take that to the NFL level, you get swallowed up. And he got shellshocked and started bailing way too soon on plays. Unnecessary throwaways when he should step UP into the pocket and hit.   He got away with it in school because sooo much of his work was out of structure or quick hits to Jamo.  He was able to not bail early and stick in the pocket this last game. He also was dropping deeper than he usually does to create sight lanes. He can’t really outrun DLs so he needs to create that space via drop to survey properly. When he does these bs skip hops in the gun, he barely drops and is flooded. He needs to stay active with his feet but learn to step into the pocket more.  His average arm when he’s not doing this right turns Pennington esque.
