Bigger Need....olb Or Cb?

If we go Dline in the first round, what position is more important to restock to the panther's front office, OLB or CB in the 2nd round?

Granted, one will go BPA, but their will be a lot of choices. (OLB-David or Brown, CB-Hosley or Robinson)

Currently, we have only one healthy starting linebacker James Anderson, two starters returning from IR, and our depth consists of special team's standouts.

With cornerbacks, we have a starter, a nickelback, and 2 interesting players; Brandon Hogan and Darius Butler.

Recently, we picked up Reggie Smith to compete with Sherod Martin, yet one of these players can play the cornerback position if needed.

At this point, I wish we could trade down and have 2 second round picks to select one of each.

So, what position is more important to us? Let's Discuss

I'll go Cb.

1. We have 1 good CB and the rest are ? that's just the same as having James anderson and ? because the 2 LB coming off injuries.

2. There are solid options in FA for LB. There are no good FA CB right now.

3. LB is easier to find in later rounds then CB. There are some nice young LB like Bingham (FSU) Manning (NCSU) that will be there in rounds 4 thur 6.

Cb, but if I have to pick from those guys:Brown, David, Hosley, and Robinson, I'd take either Brown or David.

I think we have enough of the small cbs already. Hosley would be awesome and may be better than what we already have aside from Gamble, but I'd like for us to add a taller cb. The only small cb I want to take that high is JJ which hes not that small, but for his pure abilities and coverage skills.

I would rather take Brown or David because we dont know how sure Davis can come back from three acl, and Brown and David are tremendous athlethic freaks who could over the TEs in our Division.

Maybe a Leonard Johnson could slip into the forth or fifth. He's only 5'10" but Blackmon did mentioned him being one of the best (amukamura) he played against with.

But like the idea of trading down in the second.

Depends on how you look at it. With all the injuries....Rivera was forced to tread water and we really didn't run our defensive scheme.

Pressure and scheme this year should aid our secondary....LB is suppose to be big in the scheme.

If we are forced to play safe like last year than CB. Then again getting Hogan back healthy is almost like drafting a CB in this draft to a degree.

CB, easily. Even if we have great pressure on the QB, it won't matter much if there is a easy completion due to bad/blown coverage. Especially against the good QBs like the ones in our division.

S play seems the main culprit for blown coverage in recent times.

We need to draft a CB and LB regardless

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
