Do We Run This Team?

I struggled to find a good topic for what I have said below....that being said, here it is.

"why didn't we trade for the Bengals linebacker"

"we've got to add an impact player through free agency"

Adding free agents isn't as simple as having the room under the cap, and signing any and every decent player available. Ya can't just throw bodies to the pile.

The coaches, GM, and scouting department all know what they have to do to improve the team moving forward.

They know who is available. They also have to decide how any player they add will fit with the team.

Rivera kmows defense. He knows what he is doing. Hurney isn't going to get players for the sake of getting players. He's only going to seek out players that the head coach says he needs.

The draft is still ahead of us.

The Panthers don't know who they're going to end up in the draft. Something always happens in the first half of the first round, that has a ripple affect on the rest of the draft.

After the draft, there is bound to be a few more small signings to fill roles that weren't addressed in the draft.

The Panthers have a plan.

I know it's fun to debate the possibilities, but so many I see are being very judgemental on what they feel should or shouldn't be going on.

At the end of the day, we're fans, and we are to enjoy the ride.

I wonder how many of you can even do that.

I get the gist of your post, but honestly, if we didn't come here to speculate, discuss, and debate who has the bigger Internet Armchair General Managing ******* then there wouldn't be much going on here.

It's the nature of message boards.

Besides, how boring would it be to log on everyday and see "Gee golly, I sure am excited and on 100% with the signing of Kenny Onatuolo (sp?)" or "I sure am glad Hurney signed Mare and released Kasay. He knows what's best all of the time and I'm an idiot."

He gets paid for a reason, but it doesn't mean he is always right. It makes for good discussion.

lol "Rivera has a plan" what a joke. You mean that guy who coached one of worst defenses last year? And who's team was also undisciplined?

Yeah, the guy that got the team semi ready despite the time constraint, the guy that picked the future of this franchise, the guy that is about to turn this defense around with the return of major figure heads that weren't here due to injury last year...

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
