Mayock Torches Coples

Has him rated as his 50th in his player rankings. Not that I disagree but how can you rate him so low but still have him as the top DE prospect? He has Luke K as number 6 though he believes he will not be drafted that high due to the value of the position.

Yea I heard him say he would not take him in the first and maybe even not take him in the second.

I just cant understand how you can rate a player so low to the point he said he may pass on him the 3rd but have him rated as a top DE prospect.Must be the bust potential.

Mayock 2011:

5. Blaine Gabbert

6. Robert Quinn

10. Daquan Bowers

21. Cam Newton

Just to give people insight of how accurate his rankings are. He has legitimate reasoning; however, so I'm not going to fault the low rank.

Coples is the Cam Newton of this draft IMO.

I mean that solely on the polarization of the player not whether I think he will be a good pro.

Well I admit he scares me but I would at least grade him as 2nd round pick.I would be curious where some of the pro scouts have him rated and compare.Polarization is certainly the word that describes it.

    • Nina King continues to run circles around the rest of college basketball. She's been ahead of the curve on everything, and is the biggest reason for Duke's success post-K IMO. I think Scheyer is great at many things, but Duke went into the NIL era 100% ready whereas everyone else was playing catchup.
    • Happy they won convincingly instead of letting them hang around. Montreal is cooked, and rather than play hockey, they've decided to take some really cheap shots at guys. I get a player may feel a need to set the tone, and I understand how that works. But to 2-hand cross check someone intentionally in the face, to have a guy down on the ice and put his head into the ice with a stick, to just start punching anyone who gets within arm's reach- that's not setting the tone. That is nothing short of playing dirty.  That said, the Canes.... oh boy. They could have run this score to 6-0 with half a power play. It's embarrassing how bad the PP is. If the Canes go to the Cup finals against a team who scores at least 1 goal per game on the PP, they'll lose the close games because of the lack of results on the PP.
    • Because he knows they are winning the cup. And I fully support his decision.
