C47's Mock Of Mocks!

Since it would be too easy to mock Fletcher Cox in the first I'm not going to do that. I'm buying that the Eagles want to move up and get Cox and we would be the primary competition for him. I say cut out the middle man and add a valuable pick in the process. The Panthers trade the #9 and #216 picks to the Eagles for the #15, #46, and #172. Then, with a lot of value still left at the fifteen hole, the Cats manage to move down again trading the #15 to the Green Bay Packers for the #28, #59, and 123. The Packers move up and get one of the two first round pass rushing specialists in Nick Perry, or Whitney Mercilus.

Pick #28: DT Michael Brockers, LSU

The formatting is getting fuged for some reason. Not really sure what's going on. It's deleting entire write ups on some of the picks as well. Gonna try and take out the youtube clips and see if that works.

EDIT: fixed now, hope you guys enjoy and rip it apart ...

I totally understand the need for extra picks. I really do. We have a lot of holes and we have to be able to fill them. That being said, I am of the belief we need to draft more for quality than quantity. If we are going to trade down that far, I don't want additional 4ths or 5ths or whatever. I want a 2nd this year, or a 1st next year. We need ammo at the tops of the drafts from now on. We have to keep adding talent that can contribute sooner than later, not project guys that might or might not pan out. JMO.

Not only that but drafting Janoris Jenkins AND Cliff Harris on top of taking Brandon Hogan last year? No way we draft that many CBs with questionable character. Or players with questionable character for that matter.

That's why I added two extra seconds from the trades. In my opinion the value at the back half of the first, and early in the second is much better then picks 6-15ish in the draft. The difference in talent is pretty marginal as well. If you told me you could either have a guy at nine and a guy at 40, or four guys in the top 60 of the draft I'm taking option B every single time.

I hear you about questionable character, but Jenkins is just too big of value in the second round. As for Harris, not much investment into a sixth round pick, and he was the best returner left on the board. Very little risk taking him that late, and could pay off big time if he develops into an elite returner.

Point taken.

I love the Lavonte David pick. We need depth at MLB too though. We have no one behind Beason now that Connor is gone.

You're definitely right about needing depth at MLB which is why I brought in Chris Galippo as an UDFA. Not really high on many of the MLB's in this years class, you could certainly switch out Jackson for James-Michael Johnson from Nevada in the fifth though.

Yeah outside of Kuechly and Mychal Kendricks, I don't care for any of them either.

I honestly think we wait until June 1st cuts to address LB depth. Although I can see them taking David based on pure value if they were able to pick up another second. That's why I want to trade down more then anything. Get that extra 2 and snag David because he's going to be a star....

    • Didn't know where to post this but it is panthers relevant since eventually we'll have a couple wr in Coker and tmac that will get paid. Jaxon Smith-njigba just signed a 4 year $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest paid wr in nfl history. For now
    • Would be happy with Lomu or Iheanachor at 19. Fano is intriguing but I don't think he makes it.
    • II see it this way: We have to look at long-term needs and current depth.  We have filled some key spots with players on one-year contracts.  I firmly believe that they intend to pay Bryce some big bucks next year.  That means you cannot hope that your rookies in 2027 can fill the spots vacated by the veterans you could not afford to re-sign.   We need to consider the cap and the fact that the need to start a rookie is not viewed as a positive by coaches and general managers, but they value first contracts--so it is a delicate balance. I think they have to look at the cap by position--"Can we afford a $50m QB and a $100m OL?  That is half the cap, before you pay your WRs and RBs and TEs.  They need to start getting younger on the OL as well.   I am not suggesting that we draft OT in round 1, but we could and I would get it.  RT on a 1-year deal, they may have intel about Ickey (who was not the best LT, to be honest) and 32-year old Moton is on a bad wheel.   Now if you go by Morgan's history, you can almost tell what position we are going to address with the first pick by noting the positions he has not focused on in free agency.  DT, considering the lack of performance by those not named Derrick Brown and the loss of Robinson, is screaming to be addressed with a top player.  Wharton is not an early down DT (DE if you want to get technical) and our LBs need to be clean--they were not in 2025.  Look for a DT early. I also think we will address ILB (pass covering Will) on day 2.  The other day 2 pick will be an OT, in my view. Do not rule out CB.  We are thin there too, and Jackson is in his final year.  I am not sure that we love Smith-Wade.  Some crackhead on here talked about moving him to S----stay tuned.   Hopefully, a team wanting Ty Simpson will move up and offer us a pick or two to move back. DT WILB OT OC QB  (you heard it here 337th--but this pick could come sooner than you think.
