Not Getting Along W/ Your Buddy's Girl...

I'm sure you all know someone who's been here, or you've experienced it yourself. So quick story:

Me and one of my buds here usually eat after class like twice a week, and he brings his girl with him almost every time. When I first met her she was cordial and everything, and I try to be on my best behavior all the time. She complains ALL the fuging time and about every thing. He'd leave and get his food and I'd listen to her complain, complain, complain. I never really said a word- but I pretended to care for my boy.

Well anyway, a few weeks ago he told me about her finding like a nail or something in her milkshake. And I told him that was pretty fuging nasty...we laughed it off. So I told her that he told me about and she lost her poo....over that. "I told him not say anything...blah blah blah"...silence the rest of the time.

Me and him are still cool, but we've slowly stopped eating together since then. I've noticed that we conveniently eat at different times or what have you. I damn sure wasn't going to apologize for something like that-- I don't think I did anything wrong. And I know she won't, because she's a bitch.

Blah. Not looking for advice (but I'll read it), just thought I'd share.

I'm in a similar situation. I go to Vegas for 4th of July every year, and last year my buddy brought his GF that he had been dating for a few months. This girl has zero personality. She just follows him around everywhere. Then me and my homegirl mention something about how cheap he is for not paying his portion of the limo, and she goes and tells him that we aren't really his friends because we talked poo about him. WTF? We said this to his face before saying anything too. She just tries to drive a wedge between us to make her feel better about her station I think. I can't stand the woman, but it's tough to bring up with my boy because he'll act like a woman and make it uncomfortable from that day forward every time we all kick it.

In all my years, I have only gotten along with one buddy's girl friend. (Wives are a different story.)

I think the reason we (my buddy's girlfriend and I,) got along so well. We had known each other from the very first day of First Grade.

I'm not sure who was more sad. Her or I, when he broke it off. (Back then, I honored the "Bro Code".)

(Now I look at the "Bro Code" as a guideline and not a hard fast rule!)

Sometimes you have to give your buddy and his wretched girl space until he wakes up and sees her the same way you do. Of course, if he's getting regular nookie, that may take a year or two. Or even marriage! Eventually the nookie will stop and he'll kick her to the curb and you'll be buddy again.

I'm in the same boat. My buddy is locked in with a ***** from hell. The thing about him is he gets a piece and falls for the female. Happens all the time. Every girl he gets with he gets locked in. And the new chick is a ho for sho. She's had more pricks than a sticky bush. I'm just going to str8 up tell him he's fuging up and if he gets all mad and wants to fight so be it.

Does he have the same tastes as you?

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
