Found My Bandwagon

Finally, I have a guy I want the most. Earlier in the draft season I was high on Fitzpatrick, which I still am, but Fletcher Cox has leap frogged him in my book.

I wanted Dareus last season and he showed why as he had an imediate and big impact with the Bills. In Cox, there are a lot of similarities to Dareus and we still need the help at DT as I'm not a fan of Fua based on what I've seen thus far.

Coples really intrigues me, but I still believe in Hardy. Ron Edwards is a guy I like, but he's a stop gap who is here to mentor and we have a legit need at DT.

If Claiborne or Blackmon fall to us then they're the pick, IMO, but my top choice at this point is Cox for his athleticism, growth ability, versatility, speed and strength.

I like Fletcher too, but Fua's suckage is not relevant to the discussion. Cox would play 3 tech and perhaps occasional DE, so it would have no impact on Fua.

The only D lineman that i'll be happy with us taking is Cox.

I'll also be happy with Floyd, Gilmore, Kirkpatrick, and Kuechly.

I'd be happy with those as well, except perhaps with Kuechly. I could be wrong, be everything I've read has him as a faster version of Dan Connor.

Floyd would be a reach at 9, IMO though I do like him a lot.

    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
    • I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division.
