No matter who the pick is on Thursday.... Hurney does not screw up in the first round.

first round picks...

Peppers, Gross, Gamble, Davis, Williams, Beason, Stewart, Otah, Newton

Have been spot on. Yes, some have had injury issues but no one can predict that.

So from early pick like Cam and Gross, to later picks like Beason and D-Will... Hurney fuggin owns the first round of the draft.

So before you start complaining and moaning about who the first pick is, please understand that Hurney and Co know a hell of a lot more about what to do than you do.

He completely misses the 2nd round pick every year though, that's for sure.

We really need that pick this year too.

    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
