First Cox Jumps To The 5Th Now Kuechly.

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, it was reported that Cox may get drafted at number five and now McShay has Kuechly getting drafted at number five.

For all of the debate that the Kansas City Chiefs will have to choose between safe options like David DeCastro at guard or Luke Kuechly at linebacker in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft on Thursday night, Todd McShay’s latest mock makes it a non-issue. That’s becauseMcShay has vaulted Kuechly higher than anyone else in his latest to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 5, according to Evan Silva.

It’s an interesting jump that makes sense in many ways, considering the top linebacker has come off the board around that spot in years past. Rolando McClain fell to No. 8. A.J. Hawk and Aaron Curry were both top five picks as well. Kuechly grades as well as any of those guys, or even better, so the Bucs could jump on that for sure.

News Flash: Everything you hear the last couple days following up the draft is BS. Nobody has any evidence of any teams big board and which players a falling down their boards.

I would hate facing Kuechly and Tampa twice a year every year. Even if you don't want him for our team I wouldn't want him on a rival. In a Tampa 2 he would be hell. Given as much as we run our tightends over the middle and use the running backs on screens, he would be a lot worse than dealing with a corner who isn't on half of the plays. Anyone who would want them to pick him doesn't have a clue.

Actually a lot of them do, considering it's part of their job. Kiper, McShay, etc get paid to be NFL analysts. They have more of an idea what is going on then we do.

It's going to be smokescreens galore from here until tomorrow night at 8.PM.

Exactly.

Just like the report from Jacksonville that "everyone knows Miami is going to take Tannehill". They know nothing. They are throwing that poo against the wall trying to entice someone to try and trade up one spot in front of Miami.....which just happens to be Jacksonville's pick.

Minnesota is the key to how most of the first round plays out. If they do take Claiborne and then Cleveland takes Richardson, TB is left missing out on their two targets.

They are unlikely to take Blackmon as they just signed Jackson.

They are unlikely to take Cox as they recently drafted two DT's high.

They will not take a QB with Freeman on the roster.

They are pretty set at Tackle, so they could easily pass on Kalil.

I could actually see them taking Kuechly here....but who the hell knows.

    • USA vs Germany today 3:10pm. Mens schedule:
    • It is like when you go to da buffet at da Golden Corral and dey have all dis food and you get the same thing every time.   There is probably something you would like more, but you go to da same ol racks and get da same ol food every time.  Not sure why I am writing in trailer park dialect, but hey, watcha gonna dooo.
    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
