True, but a 1st round pick is more than "protection" - Kuechly is the guy now. He won't sit like Connor did until someone gets hurt, he's going to play. It wouldn't surprise me one bit for Davis to be released after/during camp if he doesn't show up every bit the player he was before his injuries.

Even then, someone has to go. Maybe Denver would give us a late round pick if he can prove he's healthy in preseason.

Anderson plays the SAM. He shouldn't be worried at all. He was also the only healthy LB and he had a phenomenal season.

Right now he's the odd man out, as TD would replace him as long as he's healthy.

Okay guys, I am going to put this plain and simple. I love Thomas Davis, he is a class act gut but it's not if he gets hurt, it's when he gets hurt. No player has ever returned from three ACL tears to play in the NFL before, and I don't see it happening again unless he sits the entire season.

The doctors are trying to get him ready to play but his body just doesn't heal well anymore. Kuechly will eventually take over Thomas Davis's spot.
