With the 104th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select: Joe Adams WR Arkansas. Joe Adams is an explosive Return Man and dynamic WR. There's no doubt that drafting him makes Edwards obsolete, especially since the only contribution Edwards was being allowed to make was at PR, if you called it a contribution. I expect Edwards to be cut soon.

Though in the press conference after the Adams pick Hurney and Rivera made it seem like they thought Edwards could still make an impact as a receiver, I think he's good as gone, too.

This will be AE's third season as a WR. Hopefully something will click for him, if not, we have some other guys who can do the job.

I doubt that AE gets cut, this is likely the end of Tutu or one of the other ST wr's.

Yea, he's going to get a chance to make an impact at WR while being the backup PR. He has a small, very small chance to compete at PR as well. He's not going to win that one though, so his only shot is at WR.

Camp will be interesting this year. We have legit competition in key positions this year. We actually have competition at the return game for the first time in a long time. Giving us good field position with returns only boosts our already hi powered offense. Pilares did well last year, not great, but considering how long its been since we've had decent returns, we took it. I am looking forward to camp, preseason games and offseason.

AE will go into camp as the PR, but I'm sure that the FO's real plans are for Adams to be the PR, so essentially it's Adam's job to lose. AE will be the 3rd or 4th WR, depending on how they view Gettis, on the depth chart going into camp.
