Game Of Thrones Grown Up Talk. Do Not Enter Unless You Have Finished All The Books

There is no way Jon is dead.  Too important of a character to kill off.  George has said in interviews that Jon's mother is still a mystery.  Why make a big deal about Jon's mother and then kill him off?  Doesn't make sense.  I think that Jon is the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.  Ned brought him back to Winterfell and said he was his bastard to hide his identity.

Dunno if anyone caught it last night, but GRRM was on Conan...

He made the comment about TWOW, and said it was around 1500 pages... I dunno if that is what he has written, or if it was a projection...

Also, he commented that he was trying to hurry in fear of the show catching up, and that he hoped the show ended in the same fashion as the books (although he didn't sound too concerned that they wouldn't)... There was minor concern about some of the changes in the show affecting things later on, and he noted that there were like 4 characters that were dead on the show that are still alive in the books at the current part of the story... I can only think of Marillion and Talisa (Jeyne) off the top of my head... I'll try to figure out the other two... One might be one of Arya's targets? dunno...

It sounded kinda optimistic overall though, and I think he kinda stressed the need for people to read the books too...

Yeah he's pretty much replaced Edric Storm, who is still alive too, but not very important seeming in the books. I could see them killing him off, but I hope Davos ships him out kinda like he does Storm in the books.

I always thought maybe on the Benjen thing, but Leaf told Bran that CH was killed "long ago"... That doesn't make sense for it to be Benjen or anyone we've really read much about in the ASOIAF series to me.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
