No, not Burfict.

Cincinnati Bengals undrafted rookie Brandon Joiner was sentenced to three years in prison on charges stemming from a 2007 incident that occurred when he was playing at Texas A&M, according to the Bryan-College Station Eagle.

It amazes me that so many college athletes don't see the big picture. Stay out of trouble for a few years in your late teens and early twenties, and you might be able to make an absurd amount of money to play a game. I feel bad for the guy, but goddamn is he stupid.

Seriously, what is wrong with our judicial system when Ryan Leaf can get slapped on his wrist over and over again after robbing, not once, not twice, not three times but four damn times, not including his ten year probation for 8 counts of drug felony, yet this kid has to go to jail for three years for something he did while in college.

I'm seriously beginning to believe that jails were built for black men because they end up there way faster than their white counter-parts. This kid did 1/4 less crime than Ryan Leaf but will spend more years in jail than Ryan. Ryan may spend maybe 5 years for the many robberies and drug possions he's had.

I love how they keep sending Ryan back to rehab..Clearly they last 10 thousand times they sent him hasn't work but in the judge's mind, jail is clearly reserved for certain folks, not Ryan Leaf.

What I find even more interesting is how quickly the sports media is about burying stories like Ryan Leaf but love to print endless stories like Brandon Joiner...Sending that very obvious message.

Leaf was, and is, a dumbass... but what Joiner did was quite bad:

Joiner was indicted for two counts of aggravated robbery and one charge of felony drug possession in January 2008, about a month after police said he and another former Texas A&M player broke into a College Station apartment and robbed a drug dealer at gunpoint.

According to court documents, Joiner and Yemi Babalola used duct tape to bind the man before taking off with wallets, keys, cellphones and marijuana, a police report stated. A police search of Joiner's home found marijuana, hydrocodone and Ecstasy.

I won't comment exactly on the duration of jail time, but man, that is pretty fuged up. I hope that if he has turned his life around that can be reflected in reduced jail time.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf was arrested again Monday, just days after he posted bail on similar charges that he burglarized a home and stole prescription drugs, authorities said.

Leaf was first arrested on Friday after police found oxycodone pills in his golf bag that an acquaintance later said Leaf stole from his home. Then early Monday, three days after posting a $76,000 bond, he was arrested again on accusations that he broke into another home outside Great Falls, Central Montana Drug Task Force Commander Chris Hickman said.

The owners walked into the home Sunday afternoon to find a ''tall man with an athletic build'' inside, Hickman said. The man told the owners he had the wrong address and left.

IMO, Joiner is far and away not the greatest injustice in the judicial system in this country... what he did was pretty terrible... there are thousands of people incarcerated for things they did not do, because of ineptitude on one level or another. Those are the real tragedies.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
