I know it is long shot but

I think Hoover is more important to the blocking game than many suspect. He'll be back and we'll be glad to have him. Blocking is such a complex craft that I would hate to pin my hopes on a rookie, no matter how smart and promising that rookie may be. Let him watch Hoover on film for a year and then see what he has.

AWWW...Its the kinder, gentler Mintal :D

I am not enraged or anything. We are all cat fans here. But when you quote the post and edit it, then its pretty obvious you read the whole thing.

All I'm trying to say is that we've got depth. I expect Hoover and Tony to be on the team. I'd say its more likely that one of the LBs are on the way out, we are stacked there.

I never edited your post except to say that a player had already been picked up, that was no personal attack on you, not by a long shot. I cannot help that you posted a post with bogus information, (and not just one). I called you out on it, don't take it personally it wasn't...

I actually complimented you for adding that bit. Bridges was signed by the skins fairly recently, before hand it was generally accepted that we would have interest in resigning him. Honest mistake. I didn't consider it a personal attack. Please tell me what else I said was bogus?

I got no problem with you man, I honestly like your posts. AK gets me a little worked up sometimes, but you don't...

But Hackett has also been picked up by the Redskins...

Actually Hackett just had a tryout with the Redskins, he hasn't been offered a contract, but I wouldn't want him back anyway

actually he has been offered the contract.

Hackett Signing Not Imminent

The Redskins offered wide receiver D.J. Hackett a contract after his tryout this weekend at minicamp, and wanted him to join the team tomorrow for the first of this week's four organized team activity sessions. Hackett was interested in signing, but a personal matter will preclude him from being here this week. That means that the signing is on hold, according to a league source.

NO way would we give up the Hoover. The fans like saying his name too much when he gets the ball. Where would we be without the tv commentators telling us that the fans arent actually booing-they are saying Hoover.:biggrinjester:

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
