I have to share my gaming success!

Well we are half a year behind, we took breaks, we lost people, we flat out stunk at times. But I finally downed Deathwing on Heroic mode! Sorry I just feel like sharing because I'm pretty happy. For those of you headscratching it's a really hard fight in World of Warcraft.

Grats dude, I used to be in a hardcore progression guild before I burned out on WoW and quit, so I know how big of an achievment it feels like to you!! Was actually one of the first on my server to achieve the "alone in the darkness" achievment back when Yogg and Ulduar was hard....

Are you Korean? The world first was December 25th. You would have to be in an insane guild to have killed it last year.

I think what he is insinuating is that he is better at most things than you anyway.

Not saying I believe him, though.

A couple of years ago, I played Left 4 dead a lot. I got that one achievement that really made my night. What are you trying to prove. All legit. The crew of four, two chicks and two dudes. We finally did gel. Got it done. I wanted to throw my controller at my flat screen so many times but I controlled that urge. When we got it. I jumped up for joy and spilled my beer. poo was so cash.

Cool stuff! Always was a great feeling to finally down a boss you would grind on for weeks.

I mainly played Vanilla WoW but have come back casually from time to time.

I was lucky enough to be in the guild of the world first kill of Ouro in Ahn-Qiraj and the U.S. first of C-Thun. I know that probably means nothing to most people, but they were both great feelings.

Before I joined that guild, I was in a guild called Nevermind, in which the first semi-famous ninja looter made a video. This girl (Gouryella was her toon name and was smoking hot in real life btw) totally went off on the guy and he frapped it. Here's the video (NSFW language btw):

All I say is 'fu*k'at the :30 second mark....those were good times.

I lied my guild friendship is magic on staghelm downed him a few months ago.

I remember clearing molten core in vanilla for the first time after months and months of gearing up 40 people. It may seem like it sucked for these new wotlk and cata people but it was the most memorable time ever for me in wow.

Lol that's great I remember watching that ninja video back when it was new. I don't think youtube was out back then.... Yeah I've raided on and off for 7-8 years now. I'm a nerd, that's why I posted this in "nerdvana". I've always been in one of the best guilds on my server but never competed for US or World firsts. Vanilla was great at the time but me personally, I was spending an unhealthy amount of time online to maintain gear and raid spot. Now I raid 2 nights a week for a few hours and get everything done. It may take us awhile but we can still enjoy other things like Panther games!

Hah nice. Yea YT was around, but it hadn't gotten big at all. Chronphar (the ninja looter) originally just posted it on the General Discussion forum and it blew up to something around 1000 pages. Shannon (Gouryella) was really embarrassed but got over it. And she did get her motherf**ing gloves too eventually. I really wish I could find a picture of her - she used to have one on facesofwow and our guild forum.

    • Which is why I'm all for trading Lamelo. Guy misses half of every season. I swear he just likes to sit on the bench to show off his street clothes. I think it negatively impacts the other guys who do the same. If guys don't want to play, they don't need to be here. Coach and gm need to get stricter
    • See, I have a different view of it. I think that just the opposite is very true, and often proven on our very own team.  Look at the impact that CMC had when he was here.  Look at how bring in two top rate IOL to play guard last season made a huge difference in finally getting a stable front for Bryce to live behind. It took a while for it to bear fruit, but those last games were just relevatory. And off ball linebackers like Luke Kuechly, not just running a defense but dictating the game when he's on the field, truly remarkable what a difference that makes. Personally, he had as much or maybe even more to do with that Super Bowl appearance as Cam did.  What I see in the NFL is teams trying hard to cover up for a lack of good linebackers by stacking the D-line. But it gives them a crust defense, one that is hard and crunchy on the outside but a feast within. Linebackers shouldn't just rule the middle of the field, but should be directing traffic and working as enforcers.  But hey, whatever. "Devalued" positions often come back to bite you in the ass when they are neglected. Ask anyone who has had to clean up the mess left behind by a former college coach who took over a pro team and brought their college recruiting mindset in. Yanno, like Matt Rhule did.
    • I see it this way--XL was raw.  Raw players when drafted who are forced to start immediately are very raw players in the NFL-- How is he helped? TMac will shift the focus of the defense away from XL.  XL will be more experienced.  He will have an offseason of jugs work.  He is a very good athlete.  He can only get better.  Wallace?  Same thing.  He will get better with an improved defensive front and the addition of these heat-seeking head hunters at S.  I think about the players we will have on defense in 2025 that we did not have in 2024. Derrick Brown. DE Brown III NT Wharton DE Jones Edge Moehrig S Princely. Edge Scourton. Edge Ransom. S Cam Jackson NT Roseboom  LB While we may not know what we have, we know what we don't have--
